“Oh, now THIS is interesting...” Toltirr chuckled. It seemed that there was a bit of ‘time slippage’ when it came to changing reality to fit the wish. Not that the present time change but the person chosen to replace Sakura had. Someone who had been an established Kunoichi in the original timeline had been left behind... birth-wise.
Yes. This little lady wasn’t born at her proper birthdate... and as such was nor more in line of the ages of her teammates, Sasuke Uchiha and Naruto Uzumaki.
He was tempted... sorely tempted to terminate and go back to random selection. But it was with little afterthought that Toltirr decided to let this play out. After all, he had come to this universe to make things overall better with a little shake-up. And this most certainly was going to shake things up...
Eyes flashing, the Elder God decided that yes... this girl would be a good replacement for Sakura. Her country of origin might be quite different without her presence where it had originally been in the past but from his experiences, change was a good thing more than ninety-percent of the time.
Besides, the other countries weren’t his priority per say... true, the concept was to save everyone but to accomplish such, that meant giving Naruto the needed edge. This was the outlet Sakura Haruno had given him to make things easier for the Child of Prophecy to make things right, and by God—or rather himself—he was going to take it! It wasn’t just one Ninja Village at stake but an ENTIRE WORLD!
As much as he hated to think of it this way, the fact was sometimes you had to crack a few eggs to make a delicious omelet. Sure you could add the proverbial egg beater or other fixings to spice things up but it was always best to use that which was natural to the universe and start from there. So that meant taking someone who would have normally been superior to Naruto and make her a peer instead.
Now to let this play out... he always had the option of ‘rerolling’ if it was TOO bad. He didn’t think it would but it was better to be safe than sorry.
Just fast forward a little to team introductions...
“My name is Naruto Uzumaki! I like Iruka-sensei, Jiji, Teuchi and Ayame at the ramen stand, and I love all things ninja and ramen, but I hate the two minutes it takes for instant ramen to cook.” His eyes then began to shine brightly with boundless energy and excitement. “My goal is to become Hokage! Then everyone will have to respect me! Believe it!”
Kakashi nodded his head to the exuberant youth’s response, letting off a small sigh of defeat. Oh yes, this was going to be his own personal hell, he just knew it. Thank the kami he had a test that could fail them. Still, it was best to keep up appearances and at least pretend he was interested. “All right, Broody! How about you in the corner?”
Looking up to meet the man’s one eyes with his own gaze, the young Uchiha heir stared intently for a moment. He then finally deigned to answer , “I am Sasuke Uchiha. I don’t have anything in particular I like. I merely have goals...” his eyes hardened and his expression steeled. “No, ambitions. My ambitions are the resurrection of my clan... and to kill a certain man!”
That response made the Jounin sigh. Yes, it would seem that Sasuke was still on his revenge kick. Three years in the Academy with those who cared and more than willing to help the boy around him and he was still as emotionally stunted as he’d been when the night of the massacre happened. Great, just great...
“All right, all right...” the white-tressed Scarecrow of the Leaf replied before turning his cyclopean gaze towards the lone female of the group; the exchange student. “And you, missy?”
Raising a hand, the girl coughed into it to clear her throat. She then plainly replied...
