It was just another indication to Toltiir that despite all his amusement towards humans and continued association with them and similar races - he just didn't understand them.
A tiny impulse was pushed on the teenager, and she went after them. A tiny change perhaps.
As this was a timeline where Naruto died at Sasuke's hands, which happened regularly where 'plot armor' wasn't involved, she passed the nearly-dead genin on her way. She paused only to do minor first aid, which she planned on using as her excuse for going in the first place.
Eventually she reached the Valley.
Okay, everyone else was bad. Choji with chakra exhaustion and strained muscles and torn ligaments. Everyone else with their own injuries. THIS is another level.
Wide eyes tried to take in the sheer amount of damage done to the valley and just came up with "too much" as an answer.
One of the figures managed to get up, staggering towards the other.
Sasuke's okay! He's okay and he's done fighting Naruto and we'll all go back together!
The sound of birds chirping, a fitful glow around one hand, and a single word changed her realization of the scene.
"Chidori."
K-SHLUNK!
Sakura was close enough, concealed by shadow and dust hanging in the air from when a large amount of stone had apparently been vaporized. She could hear.
"With your death, I'm a step closer. There is no tie I won't break, no life I won't take, no line I won't cross - if it brings me closer to killing That Man."
Sakura didn't even register the way Sasuke's eyes flicked to her hiding place. She DID notice him limping away as he left.
Left her. Left the village. Left everything.
Left her with a dead Naruto continuing to bleed over there.
Toltiir sighed. If she would just go forward now, instead of collapsing and crying, she could save Naruto's life.
Did he have to force the issue? Might as well slap her with a love spell if he was going to force things that much.
What else could he do? Having Naruto die here was pretty much setting the whole thing on a path to destruction with nobody able to break out of the Moon's Eye Plan.
