“Uh, Sasuke? This place is empty.” Naruko spoke up, stating the obvious.
Eyes wide, Sachiko walked further into the empty entrance hall, seeing the thin layer of dust on the shoe cabinet by the front door. Entering the living room, she noticed all the pictures and family mementos were missing, as well as the wall scrolls displaying the philosophical lessons her father valued.
“What… Where is everything?” She asked out in mild shock which gave away to anger that someone had taken all her things.
“No one’s lived here for a while.” Sakura pointed out, rubbing a finger through the accumulated dust on a shelf before rubbing it off in distaste.
“Yeah, maybe, but someone’s been here recently; in the past week or so.” Naruko added, gesturing towards the wooden floors where there were tracks in the dust, though even those had some dust on them.
Pushing forward, Sachiko went down a hallway before opening up a specific door. Inside was a barren room, just the same as the one she had left. “Where’s all my stuff?! When I find out who did this, I’m going to make them regret it!” She growled out in anger, incised that someone would not only trespass in her house but steal everything inside like this.
“Calm down, stupid.” Naruko chided with a roll of her eyes. “I don’t think anyone stole your stuff.”
“Then why isn’t it here?!” The black haired girl snapped out in response.
“Because everything’s gone.” She stated with confidence, having had her apartment broken into a couple times, when she had first moved into it, while she was at the Academy. “I mean, come on; who steals the trash? Besides, it looks like someone cleaned this place up some within the past few months.”
“What do you mean?” Sakura asked, not sure what her blonde companion was getting at.
Gesturing towards the dust, Naruko stated, “Hokage-jiji had me clean up some apartments in my complex for some ninja on long-term missions, as punishment for a prank gone wrong. If I had to figure, this is two to three months worth.”
“So, what, I don’t live here anymore?” Sachiko wondered with confusion, looking around her empty room and mentally placing where all her stuff should be.
The blonde Uzumaki just shrugged. “Maybe.”
“So what do we do now?” Sakura asked, feeling at a loss with this option a bust.
Sachiko just sighed, taking one last look around, before pushing back out into the hallway and the living room. “With the locations of Naruto and my homes in question, I think your suggestion of checking out the records would be the best we have; other than directly asking someone where we live…”
“Which would be retarded.” Naruko interjected, receiving a nod from her raven haired rival.
“As well as most likely to get us in trouble.” Sachiko finished off.
Feeling a little uneasy for some reason, wondering if it was just the feeling of the abandoned house or not, Sakura stated, “We could always wait to see what Naruto’s kage bunshin found.”
Sachiko shook her head in the negative. “I’m not waiting here and neither are you two. We can figure out what to do later, but we’re leaving now.”
“Fine, fine. Sheesh! No need to be so pushy.” Naruko griped as she made her way back to the front entrance to the Uchiha estate.
