“Well, here we are.” Sakura said as she opened the door to the Records Department.
“Hope this doesn’t take forever.” Naruko impatiently stated, following in right after the Uchiha.
Letting out a mildly exasperated sigh, Sakura narrowed her eyes at her blonde companion. “Please quit complaining, Naruko.” She directed, stressing the last syllable of the blonde girl’s new name.
“Fine.” The chastised girl said petulantly.
Shaking her head, the pink haired kunoichi moved up to the counter with her teammates flanking her. “Excuse me? Daisuke-san?”
Gaining the attention of the clerk, the balding man adjusted his wire rim glasses. “Ah, Sakura-chan. What can I do for you today?”
“Sorry to bother you, but we’d like to look at our files.”
“I don’t really see a reason why not.” The aging file clerk mused as he made his way to the correct storage cabinet. “Any specific reason why?” He asked with curiosity.
Looking slightly embarrassed, Sakura lied, “One of our friends we graduated with heard that someone once swapped out the official pictures with some embarrassing ones for a prank and was thinking about doing it himself. We just want to make sure our files are correct.”
“Hmm… I know we’re not the secure section, but I’d like to think we’d detect any tampering. Well, here they are. As you can see, the pictures haven’t been tampered with.” Daisuke stated with a hint of injured pride, pulling out three files and walking back to the front desk. Placing the files before the girls, he did tap Naruko’s official picture while he commented, “Though I’m not sure blowing a kiss towards the camera should really be in an official record, young lady.”
Felling her face heat up, the blonde girl laughed nervously as she looked at the picture. Really, if she thought about it, it seemed like something she would do if she was a girl, considering the face paint he tried to use as a boy. More importantly, she looked at her registered address and noticed that it was different, on the other side of the town compared to her old apartment.
“So, if there’s nothing incorrect with your files, is there anything else I can help you with?” Daisuke asked up, subtly trying to move onto more pressing matters.
“No, thank you very much, Daisuke-san.” Sakura answered with a small bow, echoed by the other two girls.
After team seven had stepped back out into the street, Sakura turned to look to her changed companions. “You guys see your addresses?” She asked with a tinge of confusion in her voice.
“Yeah, it’s different than my old apartment’s address. That and my new name really is ‘Naruko’.” Naruko answered, with a shake of her head.
“Same here.” Sachiko added in, still unsettled with the sight of her smiling in the official picture, living somewhere other than the Uchiha district and other small difference.
“No, I mean, did you notice that you both have the same address?!” The pink haired girl emphasized, gesturing with her hands towards them.
She just palmed her face when she received dual exclamations of surprise and disbelief.
