“So, our sensei is Yuuhi Kurenai?” Naruko echoed Sachiko’s statement in confusion. “Isn’t she supposed to be Hinata-chan and Kiba’s Jounin Instructor?”
“I think so.” Sakura confirmed, remembering the black haired, red eyed woman picking up Team 8 from the Academy classroom a week or so ago, pre-change time.
“Huh.” The blonde girl muttered in thought. “Wonder why it changed…”
Putting a finger on a specific log in her journal, the dark eyed Uchiha stated, “It seems I thought it was because we’re a rare all kunoichi team. Guess they thought putting Kakashi-sensei in charge of three girls wasn’t the best plan.”
“Does that mean Kakashi-sensei is Hinata-chan’s new sensei?” Naruko asked, cocking her head to the side in thought.
Sachiko just shrugged after looking through a couple more entries in the black book. “It doesn’t say. It does say we’ve already completed the after-Academy test, though.” She informed her teammates.
“Really? Was it still the Bell Test?” Sakura asked in interest, leaning forward in her chair by the desk.
Furrowing her brow, Sachiko read the related entry and tried to flesh out what little information was in there to make a complete story. “Something about having to find and turn in a scroll but only the one who turned it in would pass. We tried to game it because we all had a hand on the scroll when we gave it to her but we passed because we worked together to complete the mission. Pretty much what Kakashi-sensei was trying to do with the Bell Test.”
“That’s cool, I guess.” Naruko commented, pleased she didn’t have to go through that again.
“So, we had today off, right?” Sakura thought out loud, getting a confirming nod from the Uchiha girl. “Does it say where we’re supposed to meet up tomorrow for our team meeting?”
Sachiko blinked in realization of that critical information, as all three of them showing up late would be a huge red flag. Flipping to the last entry, she scrunched up her eyebrows in distaste. “It doesn’t say. Just something about enjoying the day off.”
Looking behind her on the desk, Sakura stated, “There’s no notes or anything over here.”
“What about my room?” Naruko offered up, not having been in there herself. “Maybe I left a note or something.”
“What, like a diary?” Sachiko fired off a return shot with a smirk.
Naruko just let out a dismissive snort with a roll of her eyes. “Yeah, right. I never needed a journal when I was a boy, unlike someone we know.” With that, she pushed herself up from the dark blue bedding, exited the room and opened the door across the hall to her room.
It turned out to be similarly furnished to Sachiko’s room, with a bed with a dark blue cover, night table, desk and chair. Things were slightly different in that the bed wasn’t completely made, the comforter just thrown back over the pillow and not tucked in. The desk was also not as organized, books and scrolls spread out over the top along with some loose kunai sharpening equipment and ninja tools.
“So this is my room.” Naruko said to herself, hands on her hips.
“Congratulations on figuring that out. Will wonders never cease.” Sachiko snarked, as she moved over to the cluttered desk and looked at what was there. After a few moments, she smirked to herself before picking up an orange covered book with ‘Naruko Only!’ written in the Uzumaki girl’s handwriting. “Found your diary, Naruko-chan.”
“What?!” Naruko jerked about in surprise, barely catching the book her housemate tossed to her.
Sakrua just rolled her eyes, not even bothering to tell both boys turned girls that she had one herself back home. “Just see if it has the information we need, Naruko.”
“Alright, fine.” The blonde testily acquiesced, scowling at the Uchiha’s smug look. Opening the book to the last written entry, she stated, “Training ground fourteen at eight.”
