Before Sachiko could respond to Sakura’s question, the door to the room opened to admit a glassy eyed Naruko, who had taken off her jacket and was only wearing a black t-shirt and orange pants. Both Sachiko and Sakura watched as Naruko closed the door behind her and sat down on the bed beside the raven haired Uchiha, ignoring the indignant look her housemate was giving her.
“What happened to you?” Sakura finally asked, quirking her brow in curiosity.
Visibly licking her dry lips, the blonde girl continued to look straight ahead into nothing. “I found out who my dad is.”
Seeing that the girl wasn’t about to say anything more, Sakura and Sachiko shared a glance before the pink haired girl asked, “So, who’s your dad?”
“The Fourth Hokage.”
Both girls were shocked by this but still found themselves skeptical, even with the blonde’s wooden delivery of the answer.
“Quit making things up and be serious.” Sachiko scoffed, shaking her head at their troublemaking teammate.
That got the blonde girl to actually blink and turn an angry gaze at the raven haired Uchiha. “I’m not making it up! My mom just showed me all the pictures! My dad is Namikaze Minato, the Fourth Hokage!”
“It’s just… that’s kind of hard to believe, you know.” Sakura edged in, trying to defuse the growing confrontation.
Running her hands through her hair, Naruko nodded in understanding, having not really believed it at first too. After her mother had explained it and showed all the pictures of Kushina and Minato dating, as well as the pregnancy pictures, it was impossible to deny. “Yeah, she said it was kept secret to keep me and her safe from anyone trying to get revenge on him.”
Thinking about that fact, Sachiko nodded in understanding. “The Fourth Hokage was the most feared ninja during the Third Shinobi War, ‘The Yellow Flash’. If Iwa ever found out, they’d kill you just to make sure his signature technique stayed buried.”
“And he gave his life to save the village by defeating the Kyuubi!” Sakura chimed in, the pride in the dead Hokage’s sacrifice showing in her voice.
“And sealed it within me, remember.” Naruko pointed out, patting her stomach.
The pink haired girl grimaced at remembering the giant red fox in that wishing realm and how mean it was before the Being made it nicer.
“Anyways, can you guys keep this secret? She said I could tell you cause you’re my teammates and everything but we’re supposed to keep quiet about it.” Naruko requested looking directly into both of the other girls’ eyes.
Sachiko just shrugged. “I have no reason to tell anyone. Besides, if anyone came for you, they’d probably be after us as well just to be thorough.”
“Yeah, definitely going to keep that secret.” Sakura agreed, blanching slightly.
“So, what were you guys up to?” Naruko asked, changing the conversation topic from her parentage. Glancing towards the open book held in the Uchiha’s lap, the blonde’s lips turned up in a mischievous smirk. “Reading your diary, huh, Sachiko-chan?”
“It’s a journal, dumbass!” Sachiko sharply countered, shooting a glare which could pierce metal.
Giving a beleaguered sigh, Sakura rubbed her forehead. “Guys! Give it a rest!”
The next few minutes, after the two finished growling at each other, were spent relaying the information Sachiko shared with Sakura from her journal. Then she finally got to who their Jounin-sensei was…
