But it wasn't the kind cunning Ranma was coming to expect from – the three Nabikis: On a screen they were nude (no, make that naked), in something that Ranma would find out was called a daisy chain. And it wasn't the kind Cynthia had given her. “This occurred at the very same time we lost track of your grandfather, Lukkosai.” One of the Nabikis rose ass-up into the air. A second was moved 45 degrees from the pillow; the third, 90 from her. They were all so intent on their pleasures they failed to notice what else was happening. Then the one in the air merged with the ones below, followed by the second merging with the last. Only one Nabiki remained. “This is the Nabiki that met you this early morning. The other two hadn't been divided from her again, yet.”
“So?” Still don't get it.
Ikuya zoomed in on the three nude Nabikis in the Master bathroom later that morning with Ranma and the other ninety-six or so nude maids. “Look at their solar plexuses.” The picture was so enlarged, even Ranko in the state she was in could see what she meant. “So?” Ranko shrugged. “They got tattoos.”
“You didn't notice them this morning?”
“No. I guess not. I had other things on my mind.” Wa-ay too many other things. “I had no reason to notice any tattoo.”
“So you didn't even notice this tattoo?” This time the picture zoomed out. The owner of the tattoo was “Me!??!”
“Look at it closely.” To Ranko it looked like a slice of pizza for all she could make out of it. “Yours, as Ranma, is the bottom fourth of the puzzle. Each Nabiki has one of the other three pieces. When there's three of them.”
Ranko was looking at her solar plexus. Which was stupid, since she was wearing maid armor, now. “Look,” Ikuyo motioned to the screen again. It showed Ranko naked in the fountain. A close-up showed she had no tatttoo. “My hypothesis is that this body is not a female version of yourself. It's more like the body of the original owner. It does not have the necessary Lukkosai genes. That DNA, the DNA – of your male body – is the key.”
The words of the Nabikis came back to Ranma: “They said, “You have the key; we have the locks”.”
