:And We Now Bring You back to our regularly scheduled programming:
Akane Tendo soothed her beaten head. It felt as if someone had thrown her head into a mixer and set it on puree. Opening her eyes, Akane saw that her defeat of that hideous monster had merely been a dream. For there it stood, in all its baneful glory, climbing Tokyo Tower. The Tower itself was melting as it went upwards. Akane Tendo, a girl who had for most of her life, thought of herself as unbeatable in a real fight, nevermind all those fancy tricks that stupid pervert and his hussies used, found herself in a very unique situation. She now knew fear itself, but more than that she doubted that she could do more than hurt herself trying to fight that monstrosity climbing up and systematically destroying one of her country's greatest and most well-known landmarks. But she was hardly the only person to see this. And a few of them managed to gather up the courage to do something about it.
Meanwhile, another Nerimian looked up at the creature climbing up Tokyo Tower. His, or sometimes her, name need not be said, for it is obvious who this pigtailed martial artist is. (Ooops, gave it away. Oh well.) Ranma Saotome, a martial arts prodigy of one of the highest degrees, and not much else all things considered, had never thought that he would ever face something that he would hesitate to fight, aside from cats or cat-like beings of course. That was before he came to Nerima. Time and again, right before one of the big fights, he found himself questioning his own resolve, wondering if he really had what it took to fight the fights he fought, not to mention win or survive. That was before Saffron. Before he'd actually killed someone. Now, he didn't wonder whether he could defeat this monstrosity. He wondered how he could defeat it. And being a practitioner of Anything Goes, taught in a few of the special techniques coveted by the Chinese Amazons, he had quite a few methods at hand to do this.
