Sure enough, Naruto's timer had just gone from [0:10] to [0:09] when Sakura thought to point it out. Quite possibly because this would further ensure Naruto not pursuing her.

Amazing how some cheerful little sound like that could end up with one person looking as if a death sentence had just been passed.
Hmmm. Lots of possibilities for an engagement there. Maybe a White Devil? Maybe a robot kunoichi? There were a couple that would actually do well in worlds like this. Many possibilities indeed.
Let's see, just pause this and look backtime.
"THOSE DEMON BRATS! STAY AWAY FROM MY STORE!"
"Waaaaa! We didn't do nothin'!"
Hmmm. Other than two kids running from angry store owners instead of one, not much difference there.
Maybe she's developing differently at least?
I hate them. They all look at me and Naruto with such hatred. Naruto will forgive them, he always forgives them. I won't. I hate them all.
"Hey guys! Miso ramen!"
Sakura stirred herself. "M-miso. Please."
Except them. Teuchi and Ayane. They never look at me with hate and scorn in their eyes. Pity though. Especially Ayane trying to clean off the smudges on my face. I don't hate them. I'm not happy with them, but don't hate them.
The miso ramen is chopped greens, an egg, noodles, miso, cabbage. I think Ayane put an extra slice of pork in Naruto's and extra bean sprouts and carrots in mine.
Naruto thinks it's thoughtful. I think it's condescending. I'd order it myself if I wanted it.
The Hokage doesn't look at us with hatred. He doesn't look away with that sneer on his face. He doesn't speak of us as an 'it' or 'those children' - but that's a facade. I can tell. Naruto can't or won't.
All we have is each other. And he's an idiot.
Then there's Sasuke. He dismisses everyone though.
Toltiir couldn't really see where this would be funny. Best to go backwards and see...
Ah. At one point (age two) the secret about their parentage came very close to being leaked to the clan heads. Danzo Shimura put an end to that very quickly as he viewed the twin jinchuriki as potential weapons for Konohagakure. Cut their potential ties to a particular clan so that they would be tied to the village in general only.
Well, a bee stinging the bandaged man on the butt at the right time and he missed that chance to stop the leak. The chunin in question had known of the couple, was a minor medic-nin, knew that the two children were of Kushina Uzumaki and Minato Namikaze, and what a pity they couldn't be adopted so as to have clan backing.
With TWO jinchuriki - no one clan would gain precedence over the others with the power. The two would know they were siblings, would still associate, but would largely be raised by their respective clans. No secret clan techniques of course, but they would learn and train under better conditions than an orphan living alone.
