Shinji's new day: Weird stuff at Spells R' Us. Who'd have thought? [Episode 28146]

So, against his usual practices, he was ready to intervene and turning Shinji into a braindead coke whore or something similar wasn't one of his plans.

Shinji dead/missing = dummy plugs getting more use = Gendo successfully starting Third Impact = the same damn outcome as if SEELE succeeded.

There was a one-in-six chance of Kensuke Aida becoming a pilot and guiding the Third Impact, but that meant a five-in-six chance still of red goo.

The Wizard realized that Shinji had chosen an odd knick-knack, almost as if it had called to him.

Considering the items he kept on the shelf, that was a distinct possibility. "Oh, that, why that's:

• just a plain wooden cup. (Yeah right. Shinji with the Holy Grail, or is it another cup?)
• the Statue of Miao Nyan Mew." (The statuette of the Holy Catgirl)
• the Monkey Paw (of really screwed up wishes)."
• Royal Faerie Circlet." (Go ahead kid, try it on.)
• just a holy item." (Sacred to a deity who is rather opposed to the red goo thing as well, but you'll find that out soon enough.)
• hmmm. let me check my catalogue on that one."
