"A candy bar ?" Shinji was a trusting boy but this was completely unbelievable "I will become a better man by eating enchanted sweets ? Yeah, right..." He turned to leave but the door wouldn't budge. He was starting to panic and turned back to look at the smirking shopkeeper.
"Now, now, Mr. Ikari... You're not allowed to leave without at least buying something" The old loony wizard made a swooping gesture at all the wares on sale in his shop "If you don't like candies, I have other products that you will surely find... interesting"
"I'm not sure..." Could he try to stall for time until Section 2 intervened ? It could be hours before they decided to act !
The SRU wizard shook his head "No one will disturb us, mr. Ikari. Come on, you've always wanted to be more than what you are now..." Shinji winced, thinking back to all the times he had wished to be stronger, smarter, braver... In one word, better than the little wimp he knew he was "Must you always look at a gift horse in the mouth ? If I'm as deranged as you seem to thin me to be, there's no harm in humoring me by purchasing one of my wares. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain here"
Shinji sighed in defeat. He couldn't run away (well, duh !) so he relented under the pressure (that felt familar, somehow...) and went on browsing through the shelves.
A few minutes later, he had narrowed down his choice to six different kind of products.
"So, what will it be then ?" asked the ever smiling wizard from behind the counter, waiting at the ready by the cash register.
"Okay... I'll take..."
