Slaves Unl.: Akane's cure, Ranma's regret [Episode 28191]

by Ranma-mite

There were times that Ranma really regretted getting Akane cured. She'd been so much happier and nice to him when she'd been a dog that last time. He'd done the right thing though, and it seemed he was being punished for it.

Now he was facing Akane's "reward" for turning her back, just as the mallet earlier that day had been his punishment for looking at her when she had been a "good girl" and under some other magical influences.

"Why are you two eating takeout, while I deal with purple sludge?" Ranma asked reasonably.

"Ranma, shut up and enjoy the cooking your fiancee made especially for you," grumbled Genma. "We deserve a treat."

"Are you saying there's something wrong with my cooking?" Akane asked, beginning to frown.

"Aw c'mon, Akane, even you have to admit that there's something wrong with 'tuna casserole' that looks more like grape Jello!" Ranma tried. If nothing else he thought he'd have to fall back on his "get malletted far far away" defense.

Akane's frown deepened a little more. "How can you say that when you won't even try it?!"

Ranma poked it with a chopstick, this looking even worse than Akane's usual. "Where did you say Kasumi and Nabiki went?"

"To study at the University of Hawaii, they'll be staying with their Aunt Lillikoowaadoowopwop in Wahiawa," answered Soun as they'd worked out this story in before.

"I still can't remember an Aunt Lilli or an Uncle Herman," admitted Akane. "Where do you think you're sneaking off to, Ranma?"

"Uhm, Hawaii. I just wanna check up on 'em," tried Ranma.

Akane began tapping her foot, arms crossed in front of her.

"Would ya believe I just wanted to give 'em a phone call?" (And plead for Kasumi's swift return?)

The foot tapping increased in force and volume.

"Would ya believe I just remembered I have homework?"

Tap-tap-tap-tap-tap.

"How about a martial arts challenge I need to get to?"

Tap-tap-tap-tap-tap.

"No, huh?"

Akane shook her head once. No.

What Ranma didn't realize was that instead of simply removing both the dog-when-angry curse or the good-girl-curse, what the sorceress had done (it had turned out to be a sorceress instead of a sorcerer) was overlay those with counter-enchantments to restore her to the girl Ranma had described. So Akane was more flatchested, more volatile tempered, more uncute, more tomboyish, more clueless in the kitchen, more of a disaster in any sort of feminine skills, and more just plain Akane than she had been. This was mainly because the sorceress had decided it would take too much work to undo the 'good girl' collar enchantment and the dog curse, so inactivating the latter and overriding the former were how she had done it.

So, in this case, it definitely and truly was Ranma's fault for describing Akane just as she had become.
