Vash smiled wide and waved his hands. “It’s nothing really!”
Lina’s eyes narrowed. “It’s what?”
“Nothing!” he replied.
“So,” replied Lina. “You’re saying my life is worth nothing?!”
“I didn’t say that!”
Lina scowled, “Well, what can I do to repay you for my life. It better not be low. You are putting a value on my life here.”
Vash shook his head. “I can’t do that. Human life is invaluable.”
“Ah, crap...” snarled Lina. “You’re one of those...”
“What does that mean?” asked Vash.
“If you can’t give me something to pay back then... then...” Lina fell to her knees and started bawing. “WAHHHH!!! I’M TO YOUNG AND INOCENT TO HAVE A BABY! I DON’T WANNA LOSE MY GIRLISH FIGURE!!”
Vash blinked. “Isn’t there another option?”
Lina sniffed. “I could die for you, but I want to LIVE.”
“Ah... how about we just let bygones be bygones?”
Lina scowled. “Oh great... Listen, this is just a general law of the wasteland around these parts and like it or not I’m stuck with you until we sort this out and I pay you back.”
Vash sighed. “Anyways, aren’t you to young to even considered having a kid? How old are you, twelve?”
Lina all but roared at him, and grabbed him by the neck. “I’m seventeen you idiot!”
Vash choked. “Sorry... you’re a strong one aren’t ye...”
Lina smiled and let him go. “I am a warrior after all! They didn’t call me the genius warrior maid Lina Inverse for nothing!”
“Lina Inverse?” inquired Vash. “Yeah, people were talking about you in the area... of course they never called you that...”
“Don’t say it!”
“... the ‘Raider Killer’, the ‘Deathclaw Spooker’, one guy referred to you as the ‘flat chested little bitch queen’, and then...”
“FIREBALL,” cried Lina as she blasted him into the back wall with an explosive blast of fire.
“Don’t call me that!”
Vash jumped up. “I know what It’s like to have a bad reputation! No need to fling fireballs.”
“I doubt anyone ever called you crap like that.”
Vash shrugged. “Have I told you my name?”
“No.”
“Name’s Vash the Stampede.”
Lina’s jaw dropped. “You’re Vash the Stampede?! Ok, never mind then...” Lina blushed slightly. “So I’m Vash the Stampede’s wife... this would be cool, if it was happening to someone else.”
Vash sighed. “You are really set on being my wife, aren’t you.”
“I have to be until we sort this out.” Lina shrugged. “Besides, this is how mom met dad, and they were always happy.”
“I guess I’ll be your husband for the moment,” Vash sighed. “Well, do you know anywhere I... ah... WE can go to get supplies? I’m out of ammo, I’m running on my last can of ‘fuel’, I haven’t eaten in three days, and I’m almost out of water.”
Lina sighed and said,
