Rally answered while keeping her eyes on the strip of actual road that remained. "Rumors account The Canine's presence at the old fallen wastelands of Texas."
May blanched, leaning forwards in her side-car slightly. "WHAT!? Why would he head out there!? That was one of the three Ground-Zeroes when the 'Big Ones' went off!"
Rally looked over at her partner sligtly. "So?"
May blinked. "Rally, don't you realize that the three Ground-Zeroes: Houston, New York, and Los Angeles have the worse groupings of mutations and very little in the way of civilization!? The only things out there in the way of people are mercenaries and-"
"Criminals trying to evade the law, and Bount Hunters like ourselves." Rally interrupted. "So what if we might run across a rather large mutate? Think of all the money on that Canine's head!"
Nodding her head, May asked, "So, how did a canine get such a large rice put on his head."
"What hasn't he done?" Rally asked. "He's killed, he's stolen, and what got his bounty raised drastically recently was that he kidnapped a girl who's family has of rather high-standing in the city of New Rockshire." Then as an after-thought, she added, "And the bounty is doubled if we can bring back remians of the girl, and tripled if we bring her back ALIVE."
May's eyes were wide. "WOW! We could live in the lap of luxury!"
"Damn straight!" Rally said. She blinked as she saw a person walking along the other side of the road. A man with all sorts of large wares hanging from him, a sort of vender. She started to slow the motorcycle down and stopped. "Hey Mr. Have you seen a canine with a girl pass through here lately?"
The man blinked. "I might have... Of course, my memory is fuzzy..."
Groaning, Rally took an MRE pouch out from a pack on the side of the bike and tossed it at the man, who caught it with one hand. "Ah, yes, now I remember. The canine had long, white hair, and red robes. He also carried the largest sword I have ever seen over one shoulder, and a girl over the other shoulder."
Rally nodded her head. "Yes. That's our canine. Tell me, when did you see him?"
The man shrugged, "Sometime around noon, three days ago."
"Thanks..." Rally said. Long white hair on a canine wasn't an unusual thing, but red robes? That reminded her of someone she met a long, long while ago...
The man then coughed into his hand. "Can I interest you into making a purchase?"
