Nezumi no Baka: Unfortunate Timing [Episode 30144]

by Jryu

If there was a drawback to being the Armsmaster, Julia considered, it was having to deal with morons.

"So we would like to extend our thanks to you for helping us unravel that particular problem..." the Werelion before her droned on.

Julia stifled a sigh. As problems went it was minor... any member of the Edge Guard could have handled it. Heck... the average eight-year-old could have handled it. Coming to her, the Armsmaster, and forcing her to take time out from her schedule to listen to this werelion moan for half an hour was more likely that not some political move or another. Doubtless, he - or whoever his superior was - would now try and use this to link his name with hers.

Well, she could take care of that if it came up. Now to just get rid of this sycophant...

Just then, they were interrupted, as Moisha walked in, wearing a towel and carrying bath supplies. "Oh! Uh... sorry 'bout this, but I'm kinda... lost, you know?" she said nervously, eyeing the unknown werelion.

Julia did sigh now. "Go back to the dining room, I'll be there in a moment..."

Moisha nodded and left. Julia turned back, glad for an excuse to set rid of her 'guest'... "As you can see, I have some new students..." it was true, in a way... "and I really should get back to getting them settled in."

Then she got a look at him, and the absolute horror on his face. "Th-that was a wererat!" he hissed at her.

Julia blinked, as all her senses screamed at her that she had just walked into an open minefield. "Yes, from the Earth Realm. They'll be staying for a while..."

The werelion puffed himself up. "I demand you turn her, and any other wererats you are harboring, over to me this instant!"

Julia's eyes narrowed. "Excuse me?!"

"Wererats are assassins and spies, and they hate werecats. I must insist, for the safety of Jade, that they be turned over to the proper authorities."

Julia frowned.

Moments later, the werelion was forcibly removed from Julia's home. She closed the door over his yelling that she'd better listen to him... for her own good and all that.

She shook her head. "I guess there are some people on Jade willing to bring up old grudges, after all," she thought.

Then she shrugged. Well, it shouldn't be too much trouble, at any rate.
