The flames changed and shifted and...
"oooh yes. There. ah. Ah! AH! AH! AH! AH! AH!"
Rei's hair stuck up in wild disarray and she stared. That had never happened before! She certainly hoped it never happened again!
Fortunately the image faded after a moment.
"Rei! I heard a scream!"
"GET OUT OF HERE!" Rei yelled at Yuuichiro, ready to throw something. "I'm doing a fire reading, damnit! Stop prying!"
As Yuuichiro left, Rei promised that she was going to kick her grandfather's backside for getting Yuuichiro that "Sensitive Guys" book. Yuuichiro's annoying factor had been more than doubled.
Ami couldn't find anything on the computer.
Haruka was going crazy with worry.
The sordid details had provided a glimpse into the lives of the two elegant Outer lovers.
"I guess you don't have to be a guy to be a thoughtless idiot," had been Rei's comment before going off to consult the sacred fire.
Ami had checked the details and gone off into "detective mode" (though the fake pipe and hat were being worn by "Sherlock" Minako.)
1 - Michiru had discovered a hidden album of Haruka's shortly after discovering that she had a fiance.
2 - Haruka had been cheating on Michiru. Michiru had found Haruka's flirting with other girls amusing. Past a certain level it became less amusing. Past another level, and discovering the "trophies" had been downright aggravating.
3 - Michiru had confronted Haruka with the evidence. Haruka had been upset about the engagement. Words were exchanged in the passion of the moment.
4 - Michiru had stalked off to go meet her fiance. Haruka had told her that when she was ready to come back, she better be ready to lose that attitude.
5 - Michiru hadn't come back last night.
6 - Setsuna had showed up at the shrine, bruised and beaten, mumbled something about a "menace to the future", and collapsed. Ami had rushed over and put her medical training to use. Exhaustion, dehydration, extensive bruising over half her body, three broken ribs, what looked like frostbite on her left side, burn marks on her right, and a wicked looking gash on her right temple. She looked like she'd tried taking on the Four Horsemen and gotten her butt handed to her. There were cracks in the Time Key Staff!
Conclusion: Michiru may have met the Menace and was in danger, OR she had met her fiance and hit it off OR she was still mad at Haruka.
Ami frowned. That was the fourth time she'd gotten the Silver Millenial equivelant of the "blue screen of death" while trying to scan for Michiru.
Rebooting again, Ami wondered if other superhero magical girls had these problems.
Sherlock Minako was on the case!
Rei had her fire readings. Ami had her computer. Setsuna had the gates of time. Minako, however, had discovered Sherlock Holmes novels!
"Come along, Watson, the game's playing footsie!"
Artemis groaned. "That's 'the game's afoot', and don't you think Ami has a better chance of finding something?"
Minako made a grandiose gesture. "No, Watson. The thing is that if the clues do not come to Mohammed, Mohammed needs to get a clue."
"You realize that if some people were within earshot, you'd have a jihad called on you. And that's 'If Mohammed will not go to the mountain, the mountain will come to Mohammed.'" Artemis blinked. "I think. Dang it, now you're messing me up!"
Minako blew a few bubbles out of her Meerschaum pipe. "Watson, we're going to Nerima!"
"Oh, and what psychic hotline told you that?" Artemis scowled and vowed again to hide those damn books.
"Elementary my dear Watson," said Minako who'd been waiting for a chance to say that. "The engagement was to a Ranma Saotome per that piece of paper Haruka has. I called information and got the address that Ranma Saotome is staying at. The Tendo Dojo in Furinkan in Nerima."
Artemis stared. Maybe the books weren't such a bad influence after all.
"Come along, Watson, for time flies like a banana!"
