As Iron Maiden continued her assault, the SHIELD agents taking cover behind thick columns were calling for backup ASAP while returning fire for little effect. As Iron Maiden prepared to smash away one of the columns the agents were taking cover behind, a hidden steel hatch opened inward and two SHIELD agents in MANDROID battle armor rushed the room with heavy weapons. While one agent engaged Iron Maiden with heavy blaster fire, the other got what was essentially an industrial-grade tazer ready. The effect was flashy and instantaneous.
The weapon shot out two power leads at Iron Maiden. When they contacted her armor the weapon discharged a modulated high-voltage electrical charge designed to shut down hostile electronics with an effect similar to both a taser and a burst of EMP. Iron Maiden let out a high-pitched shriek as the electrical charge played havoc with both the armor's circuits and her own neurons in a bright bluish arc-corona. When the discharge ended she collapsed like a marionette with its strings cut.
The two agents who had withstood her original assault came out of cover and started assessing the damage her assault had done. While they were doing that, the two agents in the MANDROID armors were starting to secure Iron Maiden for transport to a more secure holding area. However, the heavy taser had an additional effect. One of the frequencies used somehow triggered the storage matrix and the armor returned to its storage form, leaving a slightly charred Akane lying unconcious on the floor. A small stream of smoke could be seen rising from the cybernetic control module at the base of her skull. The two MANDROID operators called for a regular team of SHIELD agents to take her into custody and awaited their arrival.
The custody team soon arrived and put Akane into a standard restraint system, and removed the storage matrix. At least, they tried to remove it. What they found was that the matrix had somehow been grafted into place on her forearm. So the team decided to use extra-strong restraints and get her to a secure medical holding area where the storage matrix could be removed as soon as possible.
