After that disaster with Saturn, resulting in the loss of the Mars Ring, Wiseman had attempted to recoup his strength by subordinating a demon that had been sealed inside a cave his Host had wandered upon. With that dark power he had sensed under his command, he could have easily reclaimed the Mars Ring. What he found inside was something else. A mortal. Evil, yes, but of a different sort.
His confrontation with Happosai had resulted in a withdrawal from battle, for both sides. Still, some good had come of it. His control over his Host was even firmer, as the child had become enraged by his inability to overcome his opponent in martial arts. He was obsessed with becoming stronger, with obtaining power, enough to wreak vengeance upon those who had wronged him. Wiseman was becoming more and more dominant over the body, while the will of Ryouga Hibiki was slowly disappearing. And with the power of the Black Moon Gauntlet now under his control, he would have no problem taking the Moon Ring for his own And then he would reclaim the Mars Ring from that boy, as well as take the Saturn Ring.
The Dark Genie Rebellion had recently found several Items of Power. Gauntlets of Domination. Bracers of Summoning. And more Genie Rings. Artifacts they had wielded long ago before being banished by the strongest of them all, Serenity. They now once again had their tools. And Serenity and her Master, Endymion, were no longer here. They would win this time.
The spirits of the Black Moon Clan was, once again, his to command. Nehelenia, who had finally found a suitable Host in another girl child (though the girl kept referring to Nehelenia as Marie for some strange reason), was creating havoc in Tokyo with the spirits under the control of the Dead Moon Gauntlet. Galaxia, for some strange reason, had went to the mainland with the Bracers for Phi, Chi, Lethe, and Mnemosyne. She had also chosen a boy child for a Host. Granted the child was a descendant of dragons, but still, it was an odd choice. And Beryl, greedy but predictable Beryl, was busying herself with corrupting the Earth Gauntlet. The spirits that were once Endymion's to command, Jadeite, Nephrite, Zoisite, and Kunzite, were to be broken to her will. Useless posturing by a Genie still angry at a king long dead and forgotten.
Sending out his senses once more, Wiseman determined that the ring was inside the small clinic a few builldings away from the ramen shop. It specialized in acupressure, acupuncture, and moxibustion. It made sense. The atmosphere of healing present in such a place would have drawn Moon to seek refuge within its premises. Now, he would have her.
