"Are you okay?" he asked her.
The space pirate's mind had been occupied with a time when she had been on the verge of losing the last thing she had when she had already lost just about everything else. His words jerked her attention back to the present for the moment, and she gave a bright, yet fake, smile. "Yeah, I'm fine!"
"Then what were you so upset about?"
"Oh, nothing. Just some old memories. Dont worry, I'm fine."
That sealed it in his mind. Something was up with her. The last time that she had acted so upbeat like this was when they had been heading to Jurai for that last fight with Kagato. She hadn't told him about that wound of hers, and he was sure that she was holding back on him with this.
"Now is there anything to drink around here? Huh?"
He watched her make a show of looking for a drink, but he knew that she was trying to take his attention off of what he'd seen. Why, he didn't know, but he was going to:
