Moon Prince: Waking up after the end of the universe [Episode 34592]

by Kestral

Genma was in a gay biker bar, getting drunk off the rotgut sake being bought for him and eyed by the patrons.

The crowd was still looking for Genma.

Akane was still at Yuka's.

Nabiki was still at a Do Drop Inn.

Kasumi looked out the back window of the Tendo house, saw that the practitioners of Martial Arts Construction had just converted the hole (that had previously been a dojo) into an unusually deep pool with a Pebbletech™ surface while the police watched.

Soun and Hitomi were still getting acquainted. "oooooh! Soun-chan! Round five?"

Jedite was still bussing tables and glad that he at least didn't have to deal with Beryl & Co. anymore.

Rassilon was having tea and scones at table five.

Ranma looked over the guy. Handsome fellow, definitely. Thick black hair, cut short in a manner similar to Ryoga's. No headband. Lithe, muscular, definitely a formidable martial artist who combined bishonen with a serious physique and a certain roguish charm.

It was a lot like looking into a mirror.

"So you're me," said Ranma, conjuring a barstool out of nothing.

"Yup. And you're me." The roguishly good looking sketched a half-salute out. "Prince Ran of the Moon Kingdom, at your service. Even if this whole thing didn't exist until Puu-chan screwed up and used a forbidden attack."

"I'll take your word for it," said Ranma, grinning back. "So what kinda prince were we?"

Ran shrugged. "I never got to do much in the way of ruling. Matriarchy, you know. Women held all the power. Basically I just went around and kicked the legs out from all the stuffed shirts and such. Stirred up a bit of trouble here n' there."

"Sounds good," admitted Ranma. "Martial arts?"

"Some," admitted Ran. "I learned how to use a gun, sword, staff, and chain weapons from Lieutenant Basalt of the Palace Guard. Nice guy, if a bit whiny. Learned how to survive off the land, stealth and special forces techniques from Obsidian. Scary dude. I learned hand-to-hand techniques from a guy named Pyrite and a gal named Lode. Nice couple. Not nearly as good as you in hand-to-hand stuff, but with the right weapons I could do quite a lot."

"Well, ain't nobody in my class," admitted Ranma.

"But of course," grinned back Ran.

"So I got you ta thank for all those Senshi being engaged to me," said Ranma, remembering a detail.

"Hey! It wasn't my fault! I didn't do nothing." Ran paused. "Well not that much anyway. Anyway - our Mom the Queen declared that she'd be giving the Regent position over to me until the squirt got old enough. Think she was wanting a vacation and to teach me responsibility. It was informally known but the formal announcement was set for the masquerade."

"At which point the Invincible damn Shadow," growled Ranma as a memory swirled past.

"Which brings us to now, where I'm just a figment of your imagination and fragmented memories." Ran said.

"But damn good looking," said Ranma.

"Damn straight," said Ran as he faded away.

Ranma considered briefly whether to wear his armor or his regular Chinese garb. Eh, why not. The Chinese garb remained.

Ranma slowly awoke to find:
