Armada Japan: Fly Fata$$ Fly! [Episode 36219]

by Matrix Dragon

Space has this really annoying habit of being silent. This means that all those great action sequences that you see in the movies should really be lacking a killer sountrack. It also means that the mayhem currently taking place in Lunar orbit is silent. Which really means that you see a lot of pretty lights, explosions and other assorted forms of destruction, but it's like someone hit the mute button.

Still, Jetfire does have a built in radio. Maybe what he's saying could fill us in on what's happening up there.

"AHHH! Holy shit someone get me out of here Prime fire up the space bridge, a wormhole anything just get me the bloody hell out of here!!"

Yeah, that helps sum it up.

At Autobase on Earth, more then a few of the Transformers were startled by the shuttles paniched screaming. "Jetfire, report!" Optimus Prime yelled into the comm-link.

"Energy readings just went off the scale," Hot Shot noted from another monitor. "What's going on up there?"

"There's a full scale defense grid up here!" Jetfire yelled. "And all of it's targeted at me!" The rumble of all his thrusters on full burn could be heard through the comm-link as Jetfire did everything in his power to avoid being vaporised. "Guys, get me out of here - shit that was close. Prime, fire up the space bridge or something!"

"Can he come through the Space Bridge?" Prime asked.

"Not at those speeds," Red Alert replied. "He'd have to slow down to virtually full stop, and by the time we locked on-"

"No more Jetfire," Smokescreen muttered.

Prime cursed mentally, turning back to the comm-link. "Jetfire, we can't teleport you out of there, you've got to escape on your own."

High above, Jetfire groaned as he banked around another set of missiles, trying to outrun the laser cannons targeting systems. "Prime, I honestly don't know how much longer I can hold out. This AA fire's just too heavy..." his voice trailed off as he noticed the ground fire thinning out, then fading away completely. "They stopped firing? I know I'm not out of range yet." Just to be sure, he pulled up and raced towards the Earth.

"It looks like they're going to let me escape," he muttered as he laid in a re-entry vector. "But why? I doubt they intended all that as a warning shot..."

"Target is entering Earth's atmosphere," reported a minicon at a control panel. "We don't have anything capable of that kind of range anymore."

Behind him, Payload nodded in understanding. "All right then, let him go." He turned away, focusing his attention on the two Senshi and one minicon that had just appeared. "Now, if you don't mind my asking so, why did you order us to cease fire?"

"Because that was an Autobot," Sailor Mercury replied. "If we're to have any chance of defeating the Decepticons, we'll need their help."

"It'll be a lot harder to get that help if you kill one of their commanders," Oval pointed out. "And before you get on your high horse again Payload," she growled, "the Autobots are here not just to save Cybertron, but to protect the minicons! We've seen them in action down on Earth. They're not her to take slaves."

"So they say," Payload muttered. "They'll use us too, and you damn well know it," he growled.

"No, we don't," Pluto replied. "Payload, your fears are understandable, we all have them as well. But we can't let them consume us."

"Besides," Mercury growled, stepping forward to glare directly into Payloads optics, "these orders come from Princess Serenity, so I suggest you put your grudge aside and deal with it!" Before Payload could respond, the Ice Senshi vanished, teleporting back to Earth.

Oval chuckled to herself. "Now that's the Mercury I remember."
