The Real World: Anime Style: From King of Fighters to New Meat for Brianna... [Episode 38380]

by Red Priest of the 17th Order

Terry scratched his head. "Wow, Ranma. Hearing that story... This is like... I mean... Woah..." Terry just couldn't put into words how he felt about the subject. "Damn. I'm just sorry you went through such crap. I mean, it makes my childhood seem tame in comparisson."

Makoto nodded her head. "Yeah. I mean, heck, anyone's life would seem tame in comparisson."

Washu just chuckled to herself. She just knew that once these people had lived over 20,000 years like herself, they'd have a better understanding of what really in fantastic. However, Washu DID make a mental note to find Genma and perform a few of the more dangerous medical experiments on him. Besides, she could get a panda-skin rug right after, and for free.

Hiei was thinking along the same lines as Washu, although, he was actually more sympathetic. He had had a run in or two with the pig-tailed martial artist, and seeing first-hand how Ranma's life was... Well, even that self-absorbed bastard could bring himself to feel some pity for the tortured soul that is Ranma Saotome.

Looking around at all the eyes literally glued to him, Ranma sighed. He knew he shouldn't have blabbed out his life story. Past experience taught him that if he didn't come clean from the beginning, it was just going to make more trouble for him when the other did find out more about him. But now, the people felt pity for him. Pity. Ranma wasn't sure if he could handle that. He was actually so used to people seeing him as a pervert and what-not, that knowing people actually cared... It set him off-balance from what he was used to. He needed time to adapt.

Deciding to hopefully get everyone to stop paying attention to him for the moment, Ranam asked, "So, who wants to go next? I know Terry mentioned he had rough childhood."

Terry nodded his head. "Yeah. Well, I might as well go, I guess. I never knew my birth parents. I was an orphan on the streets. My adoptive father, Jeff Bogard, a martial artist, took me in as his son. He also took in the man who would become my brother, Andy."

Makoto raised her hand. "Mr. Bogard. You mean to tell us y9ou and Andy aren't related by blood? I've watched a bit of the King of Fighters Tournaments. You and Andy look very much alike."

Nodding his head, Terry said, "We may not be related by blood, but make no mistake. We are brothers... Anyway, things weren't going to last. It turns out my father had a rival in martial arts, who wanted to learn the secrets of Hakkyokuseiken and be the only possessor of such knowledge..."

What followed for the next hour and a half was a story of awe, intrigue, romance, horror, and the fantastic. Terry described how his father was killed by Geese Howard, the Shadow King of South Town, who was the creator of the King of Fighters Tournaments. Terry went his own way while Andy went him. While training, Terry explained how he lived on the streets homeless for a decade, building himself up so that he would be able to take out that traitorous Geese Howard. Then in 1991, he entered the King of Fighters Tournament, taking on some of South Town's toughest, and meeting the first girl he ever liked. Lily.

Yes, it was sadness, having Lily die in his arms, and losing his Master, Ton-Fu Ru. Luckilly, he was able to learn the 'Hurricane Punch'. Going through the Tournament, Terry fought and made his way to Geese. Their battle ended with Geese falling off from the top floor of Geese Tower. This first major victory, earned Terry the title of being the 'King of Fighters'.

After that, Terry explained his ups and downs. How in 1992, the King of Fighters went global, as the new host of the tournament had MAJOR connections, as he was the Earl of Strolheim. Wolfgang Krauser, who happened to be Geese's half-brother. Terry was defeated by Krauser beforehanmd, but Terry worked hard, and developed the technique 'Power Geyser'. He blew a huge hole through the wall of Krauser's Castle, but he won the Tournament, and he still held the title of the 'King of Fighters'.

Seeing that he had their interest, Terry continued, explaining how 1993 was rather 'slow'. Now Tournaments. However, that didn't mean there weren't fights to be had. It was then that Terry met a second girl. Sulia. She needed help defeating her twin brotehr Laocorn, before he got his hands on all six pieces of the Armor of Mars. Naturally, Terry, his brotehr Andy, and their friends Mai and Joe helped. In the end, they stopped the God of War from being reborn, and Terry lost Sulia. She sacrificed herself so that Terry could reach Laocorn.

Terry then went into 1994. The year he officially lost his title as 'King of Fighters'. The KOF Tournaments started up once again, with a new Host at the helm, a person known only as 'R'. he changed to fights to 3-on-3, instead of 1-on-1. The team Terry formed with his brother Andy and Joe; The Fatal Fury Team lost in the second-to-last round against the Hero Team, which was made of Kyo Kusanagi, Goro Daimon, and Benimaru Nikaido. During the Final Round, it was found out that 'R' was in fact Rugal Bernstein. A notorious weapons-dealer known on the black market as the 'Modern Pirate'.

Of course, this wasn't the last of Rugal. Terry explained how in the last fight, Rugal survived the sinking of the Black Noah, AND made the preparations for the KOF '95 Tournament. There, Terry once again met Billy Cane, Geese's right-hand man. The British pole fighter was on the team with a man whose name would soon become synonomos with violence. Iori Yagami.

Of course, Rugal was defeated. Having abused the Orochi Power in his body, Rugal went down for the count, his body literally exploding. Still, 1995 was a good year for Terry. The Jin brothers came to South Town looking for the Sacred scrolls, and Terry met his third girlfriend. Mary Ryan. Fortunately, she has not befallen a horrendous fate... Yet.

For Terry, 1996 become a tremendously importany year. Geese revealed himself to be alive, and formed the Boss Team with his brother Krauser, (which was another surprised. Everyone thought Wolfgang dead), and Geese's former employer, Mr. Big. Of course, neither Team won the Tournament. As usual, the Hero Team squeaked out a victory. However, this would come to be the time that Terry would always be, (if unofficially) the true King of Fighters.

Terry explained that Geese was upset he did not fight Terry, and thus, sponsored a King of Fighters Tournament of his own. Centered around South Town, and back to the classic 1-on-1 battle. Of course, Terry fought his way through, and won. He tried to save Geese, but Geese would not accept his help. Geese fell from Geese Tower a second time. It was then Terry found out about Geese's son, Rock, and Terry adopted the boy himself.

From then on, Terry told os his fights, and adventures, with the 1997 to the present. With noticable parts being the Special Tournament where King of Fighters mixed with the Street Fighter Tournament. Terry made friends with Ken Masters, fought against a whole slew of new opponents, and once again fought Geese Howard... Who fell from Geese Tower a THIRD time as it then exploded. But construction was completed a month ago and Geese Tower still stands proudly in the center of South Town.

When it was over, the otehrs stared at Terry in awe.

"Wow... You should make movies or something." Kagome said. "That was just so incredible." And she meant it. She may have been forced to go back and forth through time, but hearing this... It was just too incredible.

Inu-Yasha nodded his head. "And here I thought Orochi was a dead god..." He grimaced. Not only did Terry mention the Orochi, but also Morrigan. A Succubus that Inu-Yasha did not have fond memories of. "Can't believe she's still alive in this time." Inu-Yasha thought.

Ranma nodded his head. "Yeah. That is a rather tough hydra-dragon. Glad you were able to survive it."

Yugi and Rika both had a certain thought in mind. Perhaps this is why people enjoyed watching their game fights so much. It was just a step below real combat.

Brianna was still pretty damn sure her mother was the best fighter of all time... However, she had to admit... It sounded like Terry could give her mother a run for her money... Or he could at least give the Armsmaster of Jade a decent workout.

Botan nodded her head. She believed every word Terry said. She had to boat Rugal and the Hakkeshu of Orochi so many times back and forth through the after-life that it wasn't even funny.

Makoto simply wondered if Terry could introduce her to any handsome male fighters he knew. And if not, she hoped he would at least try to give her some tips for fighting.

Washu nodded her head. Hearing of all the kinds of people Terry faced, and the sorts of science he's found out about because of N.E.S.T.S. caused Washu to hold new respect, and curiosity for earth. There was far much more to Earth than was let on. Looks like she may have to start some new studies.

Clearing her throat, Washu said, "That story was very, VERY interesting, Mr. Bogard. I'm also impressed to hear that you more-or-less adopted the son of your greatest enemy. But tell me... Who's taking care of him now?"

Terry shrugged. "I left him with Andy and Mai before I left, so I'm sure he's fine. But if I know Mai well enough, I'm sure Andy isn't. She's probably making comments about how they make a nice couple when taking care of kids, and will drop numerous hints that they should get married."

Nodding her head, Washu said, "Thank you for explaining yourself. Now, who would like to go next?"
