Kagome was breathing heavilly, trying to gain her bearings. She was set off-balance by her dream. After a moment, she finaly came to the realization Ranm had said something? "W, what did you say?"
Ranma asked Kagome the question again. "Kagome, what happened? What did you dream that scared you so much?"
Looking up from Ranma's chest and into his eyes, Kagome shook her head. She was starting to blush, feeling rather embarassed. "I, it's silly. It's one of those dreams that didn't make sense and just scared me."
"What do you mean?" Ranma asked. "Please, if it's not too much, tell me what you saw. Please."
Sighing, Kagome thought about it, concentrating to remember her dream more thoroughly. "Ranma, you know how you're the reincarnation of Inu-Yasha, right?"
"Yeah. What about it?" Ranma asked.
Sighing, Kagome said, "I am a reincarnation myself. In the past, I was the priestess Kikyo." Sighing sadly, Kagome said, "I've met her before... It's never been an easy experience."
"What do you mean?" Ranma asked.
Looking Ranma straight in the yee, Kagome said, "She hates my guts. She died and was brought back, and is jealous of me because I'm truly 'alive'. Every occassion I mgiht her, she's tried to kill me."
Ranma winced. "Sounds like a real psycho."
Kagome nodded her head. "She's not really evil... At least I like to think she's not. She's dangerous because she's confused... And lonely... She still has feelings for Inu-Yasha, even though even know she still tries to kill him for various reasons."
Blinking his eyes in shock, Ranma asked, "Kikyo doesn't know what she wants? And the way you describe it... Damn. She sounds a bit like Akane."
Hearing that, Kagome blinked her eyes. She then narrowed them in anger as she remembered what Amane's done to poor Ranma. "I still can't believe she was so mean to you!"
Shrugging his shoulders, Ranma said, "Not much I can do about that now. Akane is and always will be Akane to me. She'll be an uncute Tomboy who is more bratty than she is nice."
"I still don't understand how she can be so mean though..." Kagome said, the change of topic having gotten her dream out of her mind. A fact that Ranma was thankful for.
The two just sat on Kagome's bed for quite some time, neither saying a word, and Ranma just holding Kagome for quite some time.
After some time, Kagome looked up at Ranma, looking into his eyes again. "Ranma... Thank you. Thank you for helping." Going with an impulse, Kagome kissed Ranma on the cheek.
Downstairs, Inu-Yasha's eyes snapped wide-opened. Someone was taking advantage of Kagome. "RANMA!!!!" Inu-Yasha screamed, waking up Renamon. Knowing the shortest distance between him and upstairs was right where he was, Inu-Yasha jumped straight up.
Ranma and Kagome jumped in shock as Inu-Yasha's head broke through the floorboard. Inu-Yasha growled as he glared at Ranma. "I knew it! You're trying to take advantage of Kagome!"
Ranma blinked. "No I'm not!"
Nodding her head, Kagome said, "Yes. It was just a bad dream. R anma was just comforting me. No go back downstairs!"
Turning his head to looki back and forth between Ranma and Kagome for a moment, Inu-Yasha then sighed. "I can't."
"Why not?" Ranma asked.
Sighing, Inu-Yasha admitte, "I'm stuck, with my neck between floors."
An almost devilish smile appeared on Kagome's face. "I can help."
Inu-Yasha's eyes widened. He recognized THAT look. "Oh no! I'm erfectly fine and-"
"SIT!" Was the infamous cry, to which Inu-Yasha slammed down to the floor below.
*THUD*!
Renamon stared at Inu-Yasha. "You really are too protective of your Tamer..."
"She's not my Tamer..." Inu-Yasha growled from the debris that was once the arm-chair.
"Damn it! I am NOT a Digimon!"
"You like that position the most huh? You've been staring at it for 10 minutes."
"WAAAAGH! Your AWAKE?!"
