A few of Ranma's girls had left a little surprise, complimented by the skills of B'ehlanna Torres and some of the other more technically inclined individuals.
Lum, Ryunosuke, and Oyuki all woke up to find themselves imprinting on Ranma Saotome via a holographic image and dataset.
Of course they'd also done the same thing for the recently defeated team, so that when they finished they'd be on Ranma's side. (Nobody was that anxious to have more competition, but it was the best they could do at present. Of course that meant that added to Ranma's "fiancees" would be: Wonder Woman, Morrigan, Lillith, She Hulk, Nodoka Saotome, Akane Tendo, Batgirl, Power Girl, Kasumi, Ayane, Cammy White, Rose, Miss Hinako, Storm, Scarlet Witch, Tigra, Kei, and Yuri.
The hope was that when everyone was returned to their own universes, they'd all forget about Ranma and they could get on with their lives, though a number were planning on returning with Ranma.
Sakura stiffened. "There is something wrong, be on your guard."
"Can you be a little more precise, 'something wrong' covers a lot of ground," suggested Ataru. "Is it the rebels?"
"Sounds like our cue," said a bearded gentleman in a black bodysuit.
"Brings back old memories," said a younger looking woman.
"Oh frak," said Ataru on recognizing Theodore and Julia Diggers.
"Don't worry, we'll protect you!" Shinobu declared.
Hsien Ko, Felicity, Poison Ivy, Harlequinn, Kurama and Ryoko started forward.
Julia caught Hsien Ko's spear, twisted it away, and then began proving that a few odd talents were NOT in the same league as an Armsmaster of Jade. Felicity was grabbed out of middair and used to tangle the followup chains thrown by Hsien Ko, then block a set of drug darts from Poison Ivy, before the Chinese Ghost and Japanese Catgirl were bounced via Leep Palm into Kurama. The spear slammed into Harlequinn's nose, was rotated through a high speed spin, and made a loud crunching noise as the butt imbedded into Poison Ivy's solar plexus.
Ataru grinned nervously. "Okay, well, I'll just surrender then..."
"AURA BEAM!" Doctor Diggers declared.
Ataru hit the ground, slowly darkening and shifting shape until Mystique was in her true form.
"Load them?" Julia asked her husband.
"Yes, I think that will do," said Doctor Diggers. "My stars. How many pods did he put in this castle?"
"Every corridor has at least ten from what I've seen," said Julia, pointing to a sign. "We're in Corridor 24, subsection 3b..."
Theodore shook his head. "I thought Brianna had some issues..."
Ataru hurried down the corridor. If his team won, great! He'd come up with special humiliations for Ranma-chan but his plans could then go forward again..
If his team lost? Well, he could start over again elsewhere. All he had to do was get to the hangar area and the transport he'd had put there. He'd just have to be a little more sneaky next time.
Still, he had most of the pilots and could do quite well with this "Starter Set" if he got away. He tittered at his brilliance. He would easily outsmart those rebels and then perhaps plot some revenge.
Revenge wasn't usually his thing, but this wasn't exactly situation normal anymore.
Oh heck, it looked like someone had anticipated his flight.
