Shinji sighed and tossed the sheet of paper he was working with to the floor... where it joined the dozens of others. Nothing seemed... right to him. Maybe this was a bad idea...
Then he shook his head. No, he'd already arranged for the game and gotten other players. Heck, even Rei agreed to come! He needed to make a character!
Looking over the generation rules again, he happened across a section he'd glossed over before...
"It is often best to decide on the character's background, and personality, before trying to do anything else. This will help you assign your ability scores, and decide on appropriate skills, accessory, and powers." He read outloud. Hmmm...
He really couldn't see himself playing a stereotypical boy-scout like hero... but maybe...
An idea was forming. An everyday guy, who somehow got some amazing ability, and then realized that he had a responsibility to use that power to help others...

Toji grinned as he looked over the rules. This was going to be awesome! And he knew just what kind of character to play, too...
He wasn't going to make it too complex, no. But he thought that any team needed to have the guy that's super strong...
What did the guide call them again... oh yeah, the Brick...

Kensuke grumbled as he looked over the rules. Stupid GM and his stupid rules...
When Shinji had told him about this, Kensuke had been all for it! But when Shinji had arranged a time and place for the game, the GM had leveled another rule on him: Only Superhumans. Whatever scenario he had required all the players have superhuman characters, no robots, no aliens, and no high-tech heroes. Just when Kensuke had his heart set on a character with power armor, too...
Now what was he going to do? Damn it, he wanted power armor! With flight mode and missiles launchers and palm rays and....
Hey! that looked like a nifty power...

Asuka snorted as she considered what character to make. She knew she'd have to be the one to carry the team. Shinji's character would probably be a wimp just like he was. Hikari would probably make someone non-violent. Rei's character (and she still couldn't believe that Rei was actually coming to this!) would probably be just as two dimensional as her player. And Lord knows she couldn't trust the other two stooges to make anything worthwhile.
Now, it would all be up to Asuka in the end. So she'd better get a good assortment of powers. So what if she had to take a few limitations or weaknesses too?

Hikari frowned at the rule book. Really, this wasn't her kind of thing. If Asuka and Toji hadn't been going, she wouldn't have bothered.
Besides, she didn't like participating in violence, even in an imaginary situation.
But then again... maybe she could come up with something to help the others... and her character should be able to defend herself, too...

Rei just stared at the book and dice. Asuka was right about that much, at least. Rei did not possess much in the was of imagination. She was participating solely because Shinji asked her too, and it wouldn't conflict with any of her other duties.
In the end, Rei just shrugged and picked up the dice. She'd just let the dice decide what her character was like...
