Red Wolf: Millie and Theo's Talk Over Tea... [Episode 40786]

by Red Priest of the 17th Order

At the Diggers mansion, Dr. Theodore Diggers and Ms Millie McKracken sat across form each other in the living room. There was a small pot of tea between them on the coffee table. And Millie was looking none-too happy at all.

"Really, Millie, I'm sure your daughters will be fine." Theo said, trying to placate the obviously upset wererat. "I know Gina and Britanny will look after them."

Millie sighed. "It's not that, Dr. Diggers. I'm sure that your daughters and my girls can take care of themselves just fine." She answered. "It's just that Ranma was not supposed to leave on this trip!"

Theo nodded his head. "Your daughter Ranma, reminds me of myself when I was younger." Seeing Millie raise an eyebrow, Theo said, "Of course, she's more adventerous, but she does have a good head on her shoulders, Millie. I'm sure she can defend herself and possibly the others just fine, should trouble arise."

Millie snorted. "Still, it's the principal of the thing, Theo." Millie said. She looked down into her teacup and sighed. "Theo, my Ranma is still just a little girl; barely sixteen. She's still naive and inexperienced. I'm afraid something is going to happen to her out there."

Nodding his head, Theo said, "Millie, Millie... You have to realize, children leave the nest sometime... They grow up and have to make their own paths through life."

Millie sighed. "I know... I'm just really protective of Ranma. She's rather sweet, and awfully shy. She doesn't have it in her to really fight back should trouble arises. She's a peaceful girl."

Nodding his head, Theo understood. "Gina was the same way for the longest while, you know that. She was in college for so many years. She loved to learn. But she's grown up into quite a fine woman. And I'm sure your Ranma will be the same way."

Taking a sip from her teacup, Millie then continued. "Still, I know what you mean. Ranma won't be my little girl forever. But I feel she's growing up too fast. Ranma's told me of what she's done in the past half year alone, and I can tell you that she's done more than I've ever accomplished in my youth! She went along to Ireland with your daughters and met those two Elves, almost gotten hold of a time travel device, and had a huge evil dragon FRY her along with your daughter Britanny in Dragon fire! And that was just her first adventure!"

Theo sighed. "Yes, believe me, I was upset too. It was rather unsettling to see Ranma and Britanny come back home with no clothing and all their fur burned off. But they are Lycanthropies, and after time, they did heal."

"Well, how about when she snuck along with them to go to Peru in South America?" Millie asked. "Ranma was so excited about that trip. She got to see the Lost City of Gold, met the prince, help freed the people, held find Atlantis, defeated an evil Atlantian Warlord, entered the Garden of Eden, AND saved your daughter Britanny from being killed by dire werewolves!"

Theo nodded his head. He himself had found it a shock to hear that there were werewolves in Eden. He was also thankful that Ranma went along. The two werewolves were more ready to listen to another werewolf, (even if she was of anotehr species) and so Ranma helped smooth tension over a little bit, so that the werewolves would leave them alone... As long Ranma and the others just got the flowers they needed and left quickly. "Yes, Britanny is still sore about that. I noticed she's upped her training abit since then. I think she doesn't want to feel like a victim ever again."

"Can you blame her?" Millie asked. "She really was lucky that my daughter stowed away on that trip. I don't think those dire werewolves would have let her, or any of them leave alive if Ranma wasn't there to try and get them to listen to reason."

Theo nodded his head. "Yes, your daughter, both of them, have done quite a bit and gone on many an adventure with my own daughters. And don't you see that's helping her break out of her shell?"

"What?" Millie asked.

"Yes." Theo said. "I've been around to watch Ranma grow up. I taught her all I could of magic. I remember how new and exciting it was for her, how her eyes lit up with excitement. I was really pleased to see she also had talent to be an aura mage like myself. I don't think I've ever had a student that was so dedicated to her work as your daughter was. And seeing her lately, she's much more lively, a contrast to the quiet, demure little girl I would teach." Theo smiled. "You don't have to worry Millie. She's growing up, yes, but I believe she will be a fine woman."

Millie smiled and nodded her head. A small smirk appeared on her lips. "Of course, she's still not an adult. And I feel it is my duty as a parent to ground her, to give her time to think about what she's done. Because she still went against the tules of my home."

Theo nodded his head. "Nor do I blame you if you do ground her. I'm just saying that you should realize that this is natural. She's spreading her wings and readying herself for life."

Smiling lightly, Millie looked into Theo's eyes. "Thank you, Theo. I always feel better talking to you."

Theo smiled back. "Any time, Millie. Now, if you''ll excuse me, I myself have to get to work."

"Conclave holding another meeting?" Millie asked.

Theo nodded his head. "Sometimes, I wonder what the point of it all is."

"Well, I'll see myself out." Lydia said as she began to sit up.

"Don't be a stranger..." Theo said.

Millie turned. She was heading out the luving room, into the kitchen, and stopped at the glass patio door. "Uh, Theo..."

Theo, who was putting ona coat, asked, "What is it?"

"I think someone's passed out in your back yard." Millie said.

Hearing that, surprised Theo. Walking into the kitchen and over to Millie, Theo looked through the glass door to see a black and white-furred cat-like woman sleeping down on the grass. "Hmm... Looks like a Kryn. Probably here with a message for Britanny."
