Great Will - Null Fiancees: Ranma is a free man? mwahahahaha, poor Ranma, so naive. [Episode 4181]

by Valor Phoenix

Ranma blinked as he was suddenly in his quite large apartment.

Slowly, knowledge started to seep in. This was helped by the box full of files and documents.

There is something to be said about the government, police and media. Generally, they would let a lot of stuff slide, like Nabiki’s various petty(sometimes not so) crimes, or martial artsists being violent.

A lot of people in fact thought Nerima had no police or government at all.

The thing is, until a certain point, it’s best to ignore minor things.

Ranma’s life was no longer a ‘minor thing’ for Nerima.

The other thing about the three ring circus was, once they were involved, they were involved.

It all started with Ranma having a run-in with the police. It was the good type mind you, with Ranma talking about his life with an patient officer who wanted to help.

The officer sent in Ranma for a psyche evaluation. The psychiatrist contacted a board of psychiatrists, then started to work on his new paper while the subject was still at hand.

From there, it snowballed.

In the end, even the Ranma of the new timeline was a bit confused at all that happened.

He now had a new partner, Miki Hamura, a 26 year old former street fighter turned police officer.(Think Japanese Chun-Li). She was really nice and playful, but looked out for him like a big-sister/partner does. It also helped that she was a pretty great fighter. If a situation with terrorists came up, she’d be able to keep up, but if Godzilla attacked, Ranma would be on his own.

The government with the psych reports determined that the fiancées had to go for two reasons. One, they and the people that ended up following them caused trouble with Ranma as an excuse. The second reason was, they were doing a fair amount of trauma to the young boy. This lead to the government making Ranma’s vow of never marry essentially legal after suggesting it as a course of action to him.

This in turn allowed the police to process and warn everyone else, as they no longer had Ranma as an excuse to cause trouble. There were still minor issues, but Ranma was a major lynchpin to the trouble in Nerima.

That brought in the insurance companies. The government struck a deal with them, and it was cheaper for the insurance companies to put up Ranma in a different problem area of Tokyo that happened to be between Juban and Tomobiki. Paying for Ranma’s apartment plus a sizeable allowance was a lot cheaper as this allowed them to process Nerima like a normal district once again.

None of this would have worked without changing Ranma himself a little. The major part of his cop training was what to do and why. The most important lesson so far being how well some politeness and tact could work out. When his former fiancées got to visit after weeks of not seeing him and they started a scuffle, their bubble burst very quickly when a disappointed Ranma switched to last names.

Ukyou in particular had reacted badly to being called ‘Miss Kounji’.

It really worked in the government’s favor that Ranma wanted to do the right thing, especially when it was something honorable instead of silly and embarrassing. Ranma had picked up his lessons as a probationary special forces officer very quickly.

As it was, Ranma’s Nerima acquaintances were only allowed to visit every other weekend at the moment, though some of the calmer ones would likely get free passes soon. The Kunos being under psychiatric care at the moment really pressed the issue home better than the warnings had.

Ranma blinked and looked around his apartment. The large main room was mostly empty as it was where he did some of his kata. One of the bedrooms was set up as his bedroom with a nice TV, while the other one was like an office with all of his stuff from work in there. It even had a nice bathroom with a furo which he could definitely enjoy.

(The first four at least should probably be fate-splitted)
