Ranma looked around wildly, trying to spot the source of the incoming glomp, but instead found himself still alone. Well, there was still that girl in the kitchen, once again fixing him a snack so she could present it to him.
She really was a sweet girl, very kind and thoughtful. It helped a lot that she was a great cook too. The surprising thing was she was very caring of his thoughts and feelings, which would take a lot of getting used to, especially since the Ranma partially used to this situation was just a set of dull memories in his mind.
Despite all of the innocent sweetness, the nagging detail of his memories telling him he woke up more often than not with this girl in his bed wouldn’t leave him alone. He was sure she just moved around too much in her sleep and wiggled off the futon she set up beside his. She was just a little scared of being alone, so it was all innocent, right?
Curious to meet her, he started towards the kitchen where the pleasant humming and sounds of domestic bliss were originating. Hopefully seeing her would jar his memories and supply her name.
Had Ranma known there was no such thing as a martial artist danger sense that worked for detecting glomps, he would have been better off.
He was actually gifted with an empathic sense, making him capable of sensing emotions and intent.
Against violent opponents, this worked as a danger sense.
Around girls with powerful emotions, it served to confuse him and leave him open.
Had Ranma known all of this, he would have detected all of the Warm and Fuzzy Feelings emanating from the kitchen towards him. Instead he dismissed it as his Danger Sense being too hyper-sensitive again.
