After her near brush with death and rescue at the hands of the self-styled Emperor Of Darkness, Ami wisely decided that it would be a good idea to get a room for the night, both to try and get a better location on Iori with Krauser's advise, and to change her shorts. After about twenty minutes of paranoid walking, she managed to get a room at a moderately priced Holiday Inn, which had all that Ami needed. A hot shower, a bed and place to hook up the Mercury computer to the 'Net and check out an online phonebook.
After seting her bags down on the spare bed, and grabbing a shower with a change of attire, she opened one of the side pockets and pulled out a small candle, debating do her usual practice exercise. "Hm, why not? After tonight, I need to bleed some of Orochi power off." Ami mutturred as she pointed her index finger at the wick and began to concentrate.
The concept of manipulating the Magmata, wheter it is the Kusanagi or Yagami variant, is rather simple. Much like Ki, the body builds up a natural revisor of energy, in this case manfesting itself in the form of fire. Yet the first step in weilding it was how to call upon it. Trying to willfully force the spirit flames to appear is extremely dangerous, both to the user and to area around them since obeying the instinct to push it out would usually let loose a massive blast that's hotter than napalm. And with the Magmata no Orochi it was a guarenteed way to go Riot. Instead, the weilder had to in essence 'stoke' the fires, and then let as much or as little needed flow out naturally with a little direction. With practice, the channaling can become more and more automatic along with their reserves depening, allowing them to quickly pull out the massive flames of Kyo's Final Showdown or her father's One For the Road blasts.
In Ami's mind, she could actually feel the heat of the flames travling from her chest and down her arm before creating a small flame no bigger than a lighter's, more than enough to light the candle. Smiling slightly, she set the candle down and was about to blow it out, when she saw something odd with the flame.
"What tha..." she whispered as she put the candle out and held her right hand out, letting the Magmata no Orochi devlop into a small pyre. The flames still had their primary purple color, but as the flames flickered in her hand, she caught twinges of blue run through them, along with the core of the flames carrying an amount of the same color in it's pure white core, creating an barly noticable contrast. But what caught her eyes was that the blue was the exact same color as her Senshi outfit. For some time, she had wondered and tried to caculate what effects her family heritage would have on her Senshi abilities, along with the possiblities of being able to call upon her Orochi abilities as Sailor Mercury and vice versa. She already knew the answer to the first half thanks to the Riot of Blood and now this may answer the other half of her question.
Upon heading out, she decided not to mention her being Sailor Mercury to her father, given that it would raise some uncomfortable questions and some scathing critizism in followning an crying idiot that was worse than Kyo Kusanagi along with wearing a uniform that was perfect fodder for preverted artists, having inadverntly seen some online and nearly loosing her lunch. But from the looks of it, that idea may become moot.
"If my abilities are combining, then what does this make me? Sailor Mercury-Yagami, even as Ami Mizuno?" she asked herself as another thought crossed her mind. "Even if dad doesn't find out about my secret identity, will this mean that he can't teach me? If so, what do I do?" she whispered as for one of the few times in her life she tried to think of a logical answer, but found none as she laid down on the bed and curled her legs up to her chest.
A concept that scared her beyond any chance of sleep that night.
