Sailor Marionette R1/2: Displaying The Future [Episode 43181]

by Kender

If there was anything that Setsuna knew completely at that moment, it was that she needed to find out exactly what was going on before she did anything else. She had only seen a bit of what was going on, and she knew that she only had more questions than answers. It was that uncertainty that kept her from deciding what to do, other than to find out what was going on.

Which was why she found herself in front of a rather tall and stately museum. It was built in a style that definate Greco-Roman influence, but was most definately very advanced. As she walked into the lobby, her heels clicked along the marble floor, but the sound was only a part among the sounds of the crowds and the holographic projections of various exhibitions.

But she knew what she wanted to find out about, and after finding out where it would be displayed, she made her way to the hall. It took only a little bit of walking, but she found that for the first time in a long time, she was feeling butterflies in her stomach. With only a momentary stop to calm and steady herself before the entrance, she walked in.

Once inside, she was amazed at the sights there in. It seemed that this was a major showing of what had happened to lead to where she was at that moment.

It started with the Moon Kingdom, the original one that was. There was even some artifacts, none that would be dangerous on display there. Then came the end of the Silver Milennium and the long quiet time until the reincarnations of the Senshi and the ressurection of the Dark Kingdom. That was followed by the battles they had fought and the sacrifices that they had made.

And it was at that point that things began to change. With the inclusion of the Sailor Marionettes the fights went quite differently then they had originally. Instead of being toughened to the battle and having to grow closer only to each other, the Marionettes allowed them to take breaks and lead lives while fighting the evil forces. They had chances to make relationships without the concern that they would be found out, or their relations being targetted.

Oh, some Senshi, specifically the ones that she had left in lala land, had some initial trouble adjusting to working with them, but they came along eventually. Even they could not fault it when the robot girls fought with a skill and power level like that. Plus, having two of everyone worked in their favor, because when the Senshi and Marionettes to use certain tactics, the enemies could be mislead and confused long enough to be properly dealt with.

Then there was the added bonus of the technology that Ranma had inadvertantly brought with him. Using information provided by the Marionettes, the governments of the Earth were able to create systems to help protect themselves. They had not done so recklessly because the Marionettes had kept a close eye on their progress, but eventualy, things had become much better for the standard of life for the average Earther. They even had groups of police officers in light armor systems to help ward off the low level monsters from attacking the populace.

All of which helped to prevent the Great Freeze and the end of billions of souls. Two things that had weighed long on her soul, but now she could hardly believe that it could be kept from happening. Some part of her wanted to believe that it was true. Crystal Tokyo existed without the pain, suffering and loss that she had thought they would have to endure on the path to an Eden-like future.

Yet, this was not exactly the same as the version of the city that she had been trying to create before. It was on the Moon for one thing. People retired there because of the effect that the low gravity had on aching joints. There was also a whole bunch of other dangers that this city could face instead of the 'original'.

She just had to figure out what she would do, and the only thing that she could think of was to:
