Allowing himself to smile, Knives knew one there was one definite to all this.
He had found the green-lands...
Knives smile started to fade, however, as he saw a light in the distance. That could only mean one thing. 'Sentient' life. be they good or bad, he didn't know. But there was only one way to find out...
Walking towards the light, Knives stopped at the edge oif a clearing, frowning as he saw that the clearing was devoid of vegetation and that the ground was dirt. There was a small village. There were run-down homes, and there were dirty people screaming and swearing. He could tell all these measly maggots were humans except the one who seemed to be the center of attention. In the center of the village there was a large pile of wood, and a blue-skinned woman with red-hair was tied to one large tree trunk with chain. "Quite odd..."
Watching the scene play out before him, he watched as one person was carrying a torch. He narrowed his eyes as he realized what's going on. They were going to try and kill this woman.
Well, Knives certainly couldn't allow THAT to happen...
The man that was carrying a torch stopped in his tracks. His eyes widened as it felt like his muscles were working against him. He was sweating as he was trying to hold himself back, trying to keep his arms from smashing the torch into his face...
But he couldn't. With a scream of pain, he was holding the torch tightly to his face, flesh sizzling and hair setting on fire, fire which caught onto and travveled down his skin, which spread more as his clothing caught fire.
The people looked around in fear, wondering what was going on and why one of their own just set himself on fire. A few saw a blonde-haired man, dressed in white jumpsuit with blue accents. But just his foreign looks, they knew this waqs his fault. One raised his rifle and shot at the man.
Knives grimaced as one bullet shot into his shoulder. But he did not stumble, nor give them the pleasure of knowing that it really hurt him. "Not bad... But still the same... Men and their useless toys..."
Smiling slightly, the men stopped ion their places, Knives's power over them was increased. The one that shot him was lifted into the air. He screamed as his arms and legs bent in the opposite direction at the elbows and knees... Intul they tore and bone pierced through flesh.
The villagers looked on with horror while Knives adopted a rather bored look. Shrugging his shoulders, he was done. And the shooter's head turned a full 360 degrees, a large spurt of blood from his mouth.
Knives wasn't done there though. These men looked up at him in fear. Pure, animalistic fear. Smirking again, Knives knew they were just like the humans on Gunsmoke. "Worthless spiders..."
What followed for the next half-hour was something that would be forever imprinted on the blue-skinned woman's mind. She saw as people, men women and children walked out of the houses. Fires were set to homes, people were killing each other, and there was general chaos and anarchy.
Smiling in satisfaction as there was finally color to the dirt ground, (albeit crimson) Knives calmly walked over to the one woman he let live. The blue-skinned woman. Walking up closer he could see that she had bright yellow eyes. "Well, I saved your life... But tell me... Who are you? Why were these... 'Humans' trying to kill you?"
The woman was in awe for a moment. Deciding that it would be better to live than suffer a horrible fate like the humans that wanted to burn her alive, she answered him. "My name is Mystique... They were trying to kill me because I am a mutant."
Raising an eyebrow, Knives asked, "A mutant?"
"Yes." Mystique said. "Homo Superior. The next stage of human evolution."
Now Knives raised the other eyebrow as well, his interest was, for the first time in a great while, genuinely piqued. "Oh? An evolved human? And they would kill you for that?"
"Yes." Mystique answered. "Humans hate all mutants. They always have. They're afraid of us and hunt us down like animals. And there are even some foolish mutants that try to help humanity, and for what? They are hated also hated, and nothing well for them. And all because we have far greater powers..."
It was then that Knives came to realize what was going on. Though there might not be Plants in this world, there were still the Spiders, the humans... And the new Butterlfies were the mutants... "So, humanity is honestly beginning to evolve past their pitiful limits, into beings far greater then they really should really be allowed to be," His eyes then narrowed, "But those disgusting, ignorant creatures are showing their wortlessness by hunting the new, higher-evolved beings down..." Knives shook his head in disgust. "I don't understand. They should be glad that they are evolving up from measly, parasitic insects."
Mystique nodded her head. She knew this guy wasn't from around here, as he seemed rather ignorant on the aspect of mutants, a topic that was big in the media, "You're not a mutant, are you?"
"Of course not." Knives said. "Humans are below me... Hell, from what you told me, most mutants would barely be worthy of respect,a s they allow themselves to be welcome mats for the humans..." Sighing, Knives said, "But the rest of mutants, ones like you, and the door-mats, are still by far, a step up."
Mystique was surprised as the pile of dead wood she was standing on, and the large tree she was tied too, literally exploded into sawdust. She fell to her hands and knees. She looked up to see the man walk right up to her. "Who are you?"
Smiling, Knives answered, "I am Knives." He kneeled down to look Mystique closer in the eyes. "Now tell me... What are you doing here, in this area with... Humans?"
