What they needed was some kind of outside reference, someone who could answer their questions. And they got that someone as noises brought their attention to the bedroom door.
"Hey Kei," asked a bleary eyed and dishevelled Yuri as she stood in the doorway, "What time is it?"
"Er... Morning?" answered the redhead.
"I know that," her partner commented, "I just meant that... whoah. So he did stay."
"What are you talking about?"
"Your guy!"
"My guy."
"Well, with the way that you were haning off of him..."
"I didn't."
"Oh yes you did. Not at first, but later."
"What are you talking about?"
Yuri sighed. "We went to that bar, right?"
"Yeah..?"
"Well, while we were there, this guy, the one in your bed at the moment, comes in and makes his way over to the bar. He starts drinking, and you go over when he starts bragging about how his father taught him to drink. So, you challenge him to a drinking match, and by the time that I got the two of you out of there, you were more than a little drunk."
"So, how'd we get up here?" asked Ranma.
"The two of you were inseperable. You were leaning on each other and laughing about whatever the other said. We got up to the door to this room, and he wouldn't come in for some stupid reason, and you were trying to get him in. And since neither of you seemed to notice me, I just crashed onto the couch and feel asleep."
Kei blinked. "You didn't..."
"You didn't give me the chance. I didn't even get the time to find my own guy..."
"I need a shower."
"Me too," agreed Ranma.
"You're going to take a shower together?" asked Yuri.
The two bedmates looked at each other and blushed, before looking back at Yuri. "NO!"
"Just asking..."
On a transport craft a few kilometers away, a squad of armed men dressed all in black waited to be deployed.
"Why are we after this kid, anyway?" asked on with a sigh.
Another, quite clearly the leader by the look of him answered. "Because our employers want him back, Harolds."
"Ooohh, wow, Mayers. There are plenty of kids on this rock. Why not settle for one of them?"
"Because they can't settle. This boy is special. They spent quite a bit of money on aquiring him. His importance to the Gemini Project is great, which makes it very important that we get him back. Understand?"
"Yes sir."
"Oh, and if you decide that you want any other questions answered..," Mayers told him, as he slapped a power cartridge into his rifle, "Just come and talk to me.
Harolds gulped.
Tugging on a boot, Kei growled at her partner. "Would you stop it already?"
"Oh come on," replied Yuri, "This is a first you know."
"I know that..."
"And he blushes so nicely..."
"Uh... thanks," Ranma said.
"You're welcome. Though you look a little confused."
"Well... yeah. Last that I remember clearly, I was at the dojo and somethin' was goin' on."
"A dojo?"
"Yeah. See, I'm a martial artist, and my family is one a two that practices Anything Goes. The other is the Tendos, and they got a dojo. And since my old man and Mister Tendo are friends they got some idea that they would 'unite the two schools', so we're stayin with 'em."
"So, you're a fighter?"
"The best there is."
"I see modesty is not your strong suit."
"Nah, I'm just callin' it as I see it."
"So that's how you see it?"
"Yeah. And that's not all I see."
"I know. The two beautiful women that you are with?"
"That too."
"Hmmm? What is it then?"
"Well, ya know how there are these things flyin' around the place?"
"The air vehicles? They aren't doing anything illegal. What about them?"
"There's one really big one that's just gotten next ta the window."
"What?!" chorused the two Trouble Consultants...
... a few moments before the window blew open in a hail of energy blasts.
"GET DOWN!" screamed Kei, as she shoved Ranma to the floor behind the bed, and Yuri hid behind the door jam as the two women pulled out their weapons.
"What the heck's goin' on?!" demanded Ranma.
"I have no idea! You aren't in any trouble are you?"
"Yeah, but not with anybody that's got ray guns!"
"Just great," muttered Yuri, "Then they're after us again..."
The three of them hunkered down and tried to figure out what to do. And they had to do it fast, because the transport had just let out a bunch of men, all in black.
They looked at what they had, saw what they were up against, and decided to:
