As the door to the tube slid open, and her new soldier took her first hesitant steps from her rebirth place, the doctor greeted her with open arms. "Come to me! Come and look upon your new Mistress!"
"Mistress..?" mumbled the former ice skater.
"Yes! Your creator, leader and reason for being!"
"Mistress?"
"Yes!"
"HIIII!"
"Eh?!"
"Yay! Azusa has a mistress!"
"Huh?"
"Can we play? Can we?"
"You want to... play?"
"Uh-huh! Do you have string? Azusa like string. It twirls around and around..."
"Oh no..."
"You don't have any? Too bad... Azusa can find something else to play with... WAI! Look! Mousie!"
"This isn't good..."
"Mousie, mousie, mousie..."
The mad scientist slapped a hand over her face.
"Azusa'll keep you and play with you and name you 'George'..."
"ARGH!"
Azusa looked up with the mouse hanging from her mouth by the tail and mumbled, "Is something wrong?"
Doctor Stein just muttered various curses under her breath and turned back to her table while:
