Ranma slapped himself. How could he have forgotten? Mounting repair costs had made Soun insist that Ranma join his father in gainful employment. That Soun himself was unemployeed seemed to slip his mind as he urged Ranma to take responsibility, like his father.
Having his father held up as a role model of responsibility irked Ranma. A lot. He had always looked up to his father as a great martial artist, but otherwise had little respect for his old man. However, he had to admit that Genma had found a part-time job within days of settling into the Tendo household.
Ranma had taken it as a chalenge. If his father could find someone to employ a panda to sweep floors, there was no way he was going to fail. And furthermore, he vowed, he was not going to wind up working as a perky waitress.
No way, he had vowed, was he going to work as a woman!
