The leader of this band was a notably nasty s-o-b with a rather impressive bounty of 25,000 Bottle-caps on his head.
At one hundred strong, the gang was a decent size. While they were not enough to take larger communities, small towns like their current target were easy pickings. They were like the pirates of old, raping, pillaging, and taking what they wanted when they wanted, damn the consequences! Only the guards to a small city or a combined militia effort could stop them.
This is what made the leader wonder. Until now they’d been told by their mystery patron to hold back their full strength. They attacked the town in groups of ten and twenty. Enough to cause chaos and some damage but never enough to overwhelm the defenders. If their employer thought they’d sit by and let the area militia get them, he had another thing coming!
He was not equipped with the heavy weapons and supplies needed to take on a militia force. Contract be damned, no amount of caps was worth his life. Luckily, his employer was sending an envoy to visit him tonight.
He’d get to the bottom of this if he wasn’t…
