Mina stood before the assembled league members and command staff. "As the crew has likely mentioned, the Red October is currently en route to the southwestern African coast. The reason -"
"...is to locate a potential league member," interjected Alucard.
Mina sighed and glared at her old assailant, "Correct, Vlad, now if you do not mind I would like to continue this briefing. "
"Permission granted," Alucard replied with a toothy grin.
"Alucard, shut up," Mina muttered, her eyes narrowed as she bit her limp, holding in a stream of insults.
"Miss Murray, who is this individual we have come to locate," Commander Bond inquired, forestalling one of the vicious exchanges that could go on between the two.
"Ah yes..." Mina lifted a remote and activated the digital slide projector
Displayed was the image of a lanky white male with long spiky, brush like hair. He was dressed in a red coat and his face wore a pair of yellow, wire-rimmed sunglasses.
"The Humanoid Typhoon," stated Methos with a knowing smile making its way across his face.
"Good luck, he dislikes authority" commented Commander Bond.
"Who is he?" asked Victoria.
"I like his coat," remarked Alucard.
Mina changed the slides to a biography page and began to give a rundown on the new member.
"Vash Severem, AKA: Vash the Stampede. Born in New Mexico, 1973. No living family. His mother, Rem Saverem was found dead in her apartment, 1985. One brother, twin, presumed dead. No recorded father. He is wanted for numerous acts of terrorism, treason against the United States government, and over 780 counts of destruction of property..."
"Why do we want such a monster?" asked Victoria.
Mina turned to the girl. "Vash the Stampede is many things, but I could not call him a monster."
"But terrorism and treason."
Commander bond stood up, and looked to Mina. "May I? Vash the Stampede is an interesting case who I have studied in great detail"
Mina nodded.
"Thank you." Bond looked to Victoria and began. "Vash the Stampede is like an idealized version of a classic American concept, the freedom loving rebel. The stories about this man conflict but most reliable sources state that he far from the monster portrayed by the media. treason charge during the end of the cold war when he helped to undermine several US backed dictatorships."
"We do not know what is true or not," stated Mina, "But if he is half as capable a gunman as the legend surrounding him claims, he'd make a valued member of the League."
