And here, Mina was hoping to pass the time. But still, there were a lot of choices and diffferent DVD's made available for them to use. "Now, what would be good?"
"May I suggest Bram Stroker's "Dracula"?" Came a deep male voice as a form materialized right next to Mina on the couch.
Mina's eye twitched for a second. Her own personal devil had come to taunt her once more. Still, she wasn't going to go down quietly. "No thank you, Alucard. I believe the role does not do the actor justice... After all, you were never that romatic..." Mina saw Alucard pick his ear. "Or classy... Or attractive... Or urbane..."
Surprising Mina, Alucard just nodded his head. "Well, we can agree on something then. I dislike it as well."
Mina was caught off guard with that. "Oh?"
"Yes." Alucard said. "There were a lot of discrepencies. They show you as being too Religious... Pious... Chaste... You always were much more of a shrew..."
Mina's left eye twiched.
"And besides..." Alucard began. "It reminds me of what a bore I used to be."
"Now hearing THAT genuinely surprised Mina. "Oh? A bore you say?"
Alucard nodded his head slowlu. "Yes. I can admit that I was once a petty obnoxious individual... Self-centered... Egotistical..."
Though she often tried to hide her emotions fromt his beast, Mina did not this time. By now Mina's jaw had dropped. Alucard was actually berating himself. That was so unlike the Dracula she knew.
Alucard looked over at Mina seriously. "You know what, Wilhelmina?"
Mina winced as he used her old name. "What, Drac?"
"Thank you." Alucard said.
Mina blanched. "W, what?"
"Thank you." Alucard repeated. "Thank you for defeating me." Alucard sighed wisfully. You see, my dear Wilhelmina, my defeat let me know how much of my edge I had lost..."
Alucard took his sunglasses off an looked Mina in the eyes. "And not only that, but it had drug me out of that little rut I dug myself into long ago and let me honestly look back and see how petty and BORING I once was. So I say this again... Thank you."
Mina was flabbergasted. The bastard she always thought Dracula to be... Was acting very civilized with her. True that it could have meant that he had mellowed out over the century, but it also could have been another ploy of his, to try and bring her defenses down. "Clever bastard..." Mina thought.
Alucard smiled as he saw the shell-shocked state Mina was in. "So, Mina, what shall we watch?"
Mina sighed. She looked at Alucard seriously for a moment. "Well, I have an idea." And so, Mina got up from the couch. She walked over to the box of DVDs and looked through them. Alucard's smile widened as he looked at Mina backside as she was bent over.
Mina then stood right back up. She popped a disk into the DVD player and walked back onto the couch.
"So, Mina..." Alucard said. "What is the viewing choice of this evening?"
"Just watch." Mina answered.
Nodding his head, Alucard sat back. And pretty soon, the Merry Melodies theme started playing, and a classic orange funnel appeared on the screen. Alucard looked over at Mina. "Looney Toons?"
"And why not?" Mina said.
And so, the two sat back to watch the DVD of assorted Warner Bros. cartoons. Alucard couldn't help but smirk. "Some things never get boring.."
