Ryoga looked to see what had gotten Akane so upset and turned pure white in response.
Tatewaki Kuno, clueless in the extreme, saw the expressions of horror and frantic pointing and somehow made the connection. He turned slowly, hands on his trusty bokken, confident in his ability to defeat foul sorcerers and menaces.
The remainder of the raptor pack eased through the same doors that Kuno had just entered, moving smoothly and silently into position.
"Look out!"
Bandanas began flying and Tatewaki Kuno swore an oath as a single raptor leapt from a balcony towards Kuno only to come apart in messy slices in midair.
"Strikestrikestrikestrikestrikestrikestrike!" Kuno called out as the main pack began swarming towards him. Two more came apart while the others spread out to attack from all sides.
Then another got bounced around accompanied by an odd sound.
(Brrrraaaaaaaap!)
"Akane!" Sayuri called out.
Akane couldn't help but stare. It was one thing to see dinosaurs. Another to see her two best friends toting assault rifles and picking off dinosaurs.
"Yeehaw!" Yuka exclaimed. (Brrraaaappp! Brrrraaaaap!)
"Oh that's right, your father's in the JSSDF, isn't he?" Akane realized suddenly how Yuka would know how to handle a martial arts weapon as exotic as that.
"If I only had a spoofer or one of those new grenade launchers," said Yuka wistfully.
"If it weren't for you keeping us from being eaten, I'd say you were scary sometimes," Sayuri told her friend.

"T-rex is coming," announced Yuka just before the doors were ripped off their hinges and the huge beast with the slavering jaws forced its way into the foyer.
