"Oh, you weren't teasing her again, were you?" Akane put her hands on her hips and frowned at her son. "Really, you'd think you would have learned by now!"
Akechi got to his feet and grinned. "Saotomes have hard heads, remember, Mom?"
Before Akane can answer, an angry shout interuppts the family bantering.
"Akechi Saotome, where are you, you insensitive jerk?!"
The accused winced. "Did I mention how lucky it is that we have hard heads?"
Both parents took a step back as a shadow lept off the roof and descended towards them.
Akechi barely managed to leap back out of the way as a girl his age crashed into the ground. She landed spatula first, creating a crater where he'd been standing only a moment earlier.
Not bothering to let the dust clear, Hitomi Hibiki stood and charged him, swinging the battle spatula at him, her fangs bared.
