Those words were: induced ovulation.
It was a part of the Ctarl-Ctarl's feline ancestery. Like terran cats, the act of sex itself induced fertility. And so there was a likelihood that she was now in the process of conceiving.
"I'm too young to be a mother!" she groaned out loud.
She forced herself to calm down and consider matters. She and Gene weren't even of the same species, so there was no guarantee that they were even fertile together. Even between two fertile Ctarl-Ctarl engaged in unprotected sex, pregnancy didn't happen every time.
Those were two factors on her side.
"Why does he keep calling me an animal?" she wondered.
