“Great, I have to beat another god?” grumbled Ranma
“Another god?” asked Belldandy, “You’ve already beaten a god?”
Ranma nodded. “I already kicked Saffron’s butt!”
Bell blinked and picked up the phone. After a moment, she placed it down, and turned to the martial artist. She reached into her robe and pulled out a card and cell phone.
“By the power invested in me by Kami-sama and the ultimate force, as the Norn of the present I present you with your official ID card and Devine Cellphone.”
Ranma blinked as he accepted the two objects. “ID Card? Devine Cellphone? I was expecting’ something more... old fashion.”
“Kami-sama is a stickler for the newest toys. He just loves to play around with the newist products of human innovation.” She paused and continued, “Besides, it makes things a lot easier.”
“How so?” asked Ranma.
Bell shrugged. “In modern situations, your ID can be used as a cash card. It’s a lot easier then ‘contently’ placing small stashes of gold in a hero’s path when pay day comes around.”
“I’m getting paid?” asked Ranma.
Bell laughed. “Of course! If divinely sanctioned hero’s a paladins had to work a day job they’d never get anything done!”
“Oh, makes sense,” Ranma took a look at the phone. “What about this?”
“It’s much more direct and less open to miss-interpretation then visions, dreams, or a burning bush...” she replied.
Ranma blinked. It made sense. He just didn't expect God to be a technophile. “What if I lose them?”
Belldandy shook her head and sighed. “Pocket Dimensional Storage... it’s all in the manual, Ranma.”
Ranma blinked and looked at said booklet. “Okay...”
Suddenly the phone rang...
