"Ukyo?" he said softly.
She stopped in her smoothing of her outfit, and looked at him. "What is it?"
"What's going on?"
"Nothing. Just going out with some old friends."
"That's what you told me. But what is it really?"
"What... what do you mean?"
"You've been acting all fidgity, putting on act like you're looking foward to going when it's obvious that you're not, keeping secrets... I feel like I'm losing you and I don't know why."
"Don't worry. Everything is fine."
"No, it's not. There's something wrong with these meetings and I want to know what I can to help you."

So, she settled for keeping him in the dark. "I can't tell you. I'm sorry, but this is something that I have to do on my own, and there isn't anything that you can do. I wish that there was, but there isn't."
"I want to help you," he insisted.
Ukyo just smiled sadly at him and cupped his cheeks before giving him a kiss. "I know, and I appreciate it, but I don't want to get you mixed up in it."
Letting her fingers trail upon his skin, she turned and exited the room, leaving him behind with more questions than answers, some old, some new. But he was little closer to clearing it all up, and he wasn't sure about how to go about doing so.
All he could do was stand there while:
