It was only a small, local festival, after all, what harm could it do. That was until he'd spotted the picture in the Tokyo paper he sometimes bought from the village.
His own son, Hajime, with the "costume" of his wings took most of the attention in the picture, and the rest of the cloud was something of a blur. And his back was to the camera, but in a far corner, behind most of the picture, could be seen a woman eating with two children.
Kiima dressed and held her hair in a manner sufficiently different that the resemblance between her and Akane was nigh-invisible, especially as part of the background of a picture of a crowd. Unfortunately, Coriander and Basil, with their pink-streaked white hair, stood out.
If one looked at the crowd that is.
Of course, most people would skip past such a picture, even the story. Those that did look at it would probably only note the Chinese boy with the "fake" wings. Only a few be able to recognize him and his wife from the awkward angles and situations. And only those few would connect the children to Ranma.
He wasn't really worried about the murderesses noticing it. Shampoo wouldn't likely read a Japanese paper. Kodachi had never met him or Kiima, likely never even heard of him. Ukyou, likewise, knew neither Kiima nor Tarou. And Akane was more than a little unobservant about such things. What Tarou was worried about was someone more aware, like Nabiki, or obsessive, like Nodoka, making mention of it in the best of all possible intentions.
The children weren't ready yet, not by what he and Kiima thought. But, they'd have to be careful now, very careful. Because now it was possible for the killers to learn of their mistake.
