Wild Dragons: Searching Bird [Episode 60206]

by Thrythlind

Kiima walked about through the streets of a place she hadn't thought she return to any time soon.

Nerima.

She'd never really liked this place, and the fault was all that of the residents.

First, it had been because they were groundlings, a prejudice that had persisted for some time, well past Ranma's defeat of her God-King. But, after living for a long time among and even as one, her original feelings toward the wingless bulk of humanity was a sort of take them as they come neutrality.

She liked the people in the town near their mountain home, truly and genuinely liked them. The majority of the people of Nerima, however, still gave her fits of distaste. They were a rumor-mongoring, opinionated, hide-bound lot of crazies.

She had been about the same when she'd come the first time, but she and her husband had grown up. As had Ranma and Herb and probably a few others. But Nerima still felt the same to her, and she knew some of the people hadn't grown up.

Or, at least, hadn't before they had done something that had to be punished.

She walked into a diner and went to the counter to speak to the cashier.

"Seat your self, Miss," the cashier said in a bored tone of voice.

"I'm not here to eat," Kiima said. "I'm looking for a girl, a teenager. She's about this tall, her hair is white and pink and she has a...generous chest for her age."

"You let your daughter dye her hair white and pink?" the cashier asked.

"It's not dye, she was born with it," Kiima explained wearily. "And she's my goddaughter."

"I can't say as I've seen anyone like that around," the cashier said. "It reminds of something though..."

"Thank you," Kiima said quickly, not wanting to draw out the woman to thinking any deeper about it.

She turned around and started to leave. The bell over the door rang as she turned and announced two people walking into the diner. One of whom Kiima recognized.

"You need to get out more Nabs," the man was saying. "You're not getting any younger."

"Now there's luck," the cashier said. "A cop when you need one."

"Why do you need a cop? Naoko?" Nabiki asked, turning toward the cashier and catching sight of Kiima all in an instant. Her eyes narrowed fractionally though it was enough for Kiima to see it. "Akane...no, you're not... Kiima, isn't it? What are you doing here?"
