Wild Dragons: Visiting A Home [Episode 61326]

by Kender

For Coriander, it had been something that she had wanted ever since she had been a small child. Over the years, and despite the out of the way place in which she lived, she had discovered things like books, television and movies. In them, she had found the closest thing that she could to a 'normal family life'. Something that she knew that she didn't have.

The kids in them had parents, their real mothers and fathers and a normal routine. They went to school when their parents went to work, and had breakfasts and dinners together. Friends came over and they would gossip, listen to music and do other such things. Holidays would be spent together in traditions generations old.

All things that she wanted and didn't have.

It wasn't to say that she didn't care for and appreciate her and Basil's guardians. They were just not really demonstrative people, and tended towards a more stiff exterior. She knew they cared, but it wasn't the same what with the everpresent fear that her parents' killers would come after them. And she had memories of a redheaded woman who used to play with her and her brother while a man with her hair color watched them with a smile.

But in the Hibikis' home, there was a warmth that she'd only heard about. Sure there were a lot of pigs of all sorts around, but it was homey and soft. It wasn't set up to be functional and useful, but just because someone thought that it would be nice to put there. Comfort was what it was arranged for, and Akari, who isisted on being called 'Aunt' was trying to make sure that she was well taken care of. It was like being inside of a cocoon, putting her warm, safe and comfortable.

Or it would be completely that way if their son didn't stare at her like he was. For some reason it made her feel... odd.

"Are you going to want anything else to eat dear?" Akari asked.

"No, not really Mrs. Hibiki..," she replied and then blushed under the look that she got. "I mean, Aunt Akari."

"That's good. I wouldn't want you to go hungry. Especially with your healthy appetite."

"It was really nice of you."

"Why thank you," Akari told her, and then blinked at a knock at the door. "I wonder who that could be."

"Perhaps you have visitors?"

"Of course, but I wasn't expecting anyone. Ryouga, would you stay here while I go answer the door?"

"Sure," the Lost Man replied as his wife went off to see who had come.

Coriander looked at him and bit her lip. "She's really nice."

"I know. It's part of why I married her."

"And I really did eat enough."

"Are you sure about that? Both of us remember how much your mother and grandfather used to eat."

"Oh... It was a lot?"

"That's putting it very mildly."

"Um... Coriander," came a returning Akari's hesitant voice.

"Yes?" the girl answered.

"We have someone here to see you."

"Who would that be?" Coriander asked as she turned to look, and then slouched in her chair at what she saw. "Oh... hi..."

Tarou crossed his arms over his chest with Kiima frowning from behind him. "We are going to have a long talk about this young lady."

"A-heh..," she breathed with a strained grin on her face while:
