And Megumi and Tsubame were dragging in the reasons for the expressions by the arm.
"Just tell me why I should know why Katsu called us here?" demanded Sanosuke.
Yahiko glared at the older man. "Because he's your childhood friend!"
"So?! I can't read his thoughts!"
"Oh really? Like you wouldn't know what would make him have us visit!"
"Hey, for all I know Kasumi made some more of that great food and he wants to share!"
"You and your stomach! Why can't you think of something... YOWTCH!"
"Hah! Look like Kaoru's got your ear... OW! THAT HURTS!"
"That's the point!" Kaoru said primly, tugging on both men's ears. "Now if you don't stop this petty bickering, then I'm going to have to get really annoyed."
"Yeah right..," went Yahiko. "GAH! STOP THAT!"
"Serves you right!" snickered Sanosuke. "OUCH!"
"Now are you going to act like real adults?" Kaoru asked.
"Whatever you say."
"Yeah..," muttered Yahiko.
"Good," she said and released their ears.
Megumi gave a quiet snort at the sight of her husband rubbing his injured lobe. "Now will you grow up?"
"Oh come on..," Sanosuke complained.
Tsubame frowned at Yahiko as she tended to his injury. "I wish that you would stop this."
"Sorry..," her husband apolgised.
Watching the display, Kenji shook his head. The two men had been at it for as long as he could remember, and they were still going strong. He supposed that it was part of their continued friendship, but sometimes he had to wonder.
"Speaking of Katsu," muttered Sanosuke, "Where is he?"
"Maybe Kasumi still has him," commented Yahiko.
"Don't make fun of him..."
"I'm not."
"Then what?"
"The last time I visited their house," said the younger man, "Kasumi kept on trying to make certain that I was perfectly taken care of. She told me that she 'couldn't face Tsubame if she didn't'."
"Sounds like her."
"So Tsunan asked you to come here?"
"Yeah. He made a stop at our place earlier and asked if we could drop by."
"He did the same with us," put in Tsubame.
"I wonder why," Kaoru said thoughtfully while:
