"Oro," Kenji said questioningly. The look turned more questioning as the strange woman snickered at the characteristic sound. "Auntie Kasumi, who is she?"
"She's a relative of mine from the country," Kasumi said with a half-mischeivous twinkle in her eye that generally betrayed some secret and happy news the older woman had to share. "Is everybody here already then?"
"They should be," Tsunan added. "I told them long enough ago."
"Everyone's here," Kenji confirmed. The strange woman smirked.
"I guess it's time to satisfy their curiousity," Nabiki said. She stepped forward and bowed as well as she could with the baby carrier on her back. "Take us to your father if you please, Kenji."
"You don't talk like you're from the country," Kenji said oddly. "And how'd you know my name?"
"I remember you from when I used to live in the city," Nabiki said. "You've changed a lot since then, but I never knew more than five redheads in my life. And only one other that uses that word so much." She didn't mention that two of those were dead, Nodoka of old age and Ranma by murder.
The older of the woman's children, a little girl, held tightly to her mother's hand, reaching her little hand fairly high up to do so, as Kenji led them into the dojo.
"Ah, Kasumi-dono," Kenshin said as he met them in the hall. He glanced curiously towards the extra woman, taking her features in. "Oro."
"I'm a relative of Kasumi's," Nabiki said simply, the same mischeivous twinkle in her eyes as occasionally inhabited Kasumi's. In response a look of comprehension and consideration passed over Kenshin's face.
"Ah," he said. "It is good to see you safely again. They are here, please come."
He gestured, a quiet smile on his own face, as Nabiki wondered just how much the man had guessed before following with her sister.
"Come along Tse," she whispered. "This won't be long, and you can play with Jiro while we adults handle our boring chatting."
Tse nodded and wondered what her mother would be talking about. It had something to do with Aoshi and Kitsune, but she wasn't sure what. Every time her mother didn't want her to hear something she said it was going to be boring, though.
