Statue of Miao Nyan Mew : Unexpected Expectations [Episode 65413]

From the moment that he stepped into his office, Gendo knew that something was off. The room was not a place where anything changed, save for the occasional visitor. He had it perfectly set up so that it would have the proper intimidation factor, as well as the correct air for him to ponder his schemes.

What it normally did not have was a colorfully lit box with a curved top and buttons.

Curious as to what was going on, so that he might have the right person reassigned to the Gobi Desert, he poked at it to see what its purpose was.

Which was when Lawrence Welk's 'Bubbles in the Wine' began to play as literal bubbles began to fill the air of the office.

Makoto Hyuga was not having a good day. First the head of the science department disappeared, followed by her assistant, and so on. Then had come the craziness from the MAGI, which they were still trying to shut off. Which was followed by the entire Geofront degenerating into a madhouse.

And now he had to deal with an annoying subordinate who demanding answers that he did not have.

"How are we going to fix all this?" asked Private Cleveland.

Hyuga shrugged. "I don't know, but we have to try."

"But aren't you the one who is supposed to know what to do?"

"No... I'm the one that the ones who know what to do tell to tell people like you what to do."

"So what? You join up just to take up space?"

"I joined to help humanity."

"Nice answer. Cliche too. But what did you expect when you came here."

"I'll tell you what I didn't expect," Makoto growled, "I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition!"

At which the door flew open and three men in Cardinal robes burst in, with the lead one having a triumphant look on his face. "NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief weapon is surprise! ... Surprise and fear... fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise... and ruthless efficiency! Our three weapons are fear, and surprise, and ruthless efficiency... and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope... Our four... no... Amongst our weapons.... Hmf... Amongst our weaponry... are such elements as fear, surpr.... I'll come in again."

Rolling his eyes after they had left, Makoto sighed. "I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition."

And again the three men burst in. "NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! ...Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as: fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope, and nice red uniforms - Oh damn!"

The NERV lieutenant groaned and wondered how long this would take.

They were elite agents trained for the most difficult assignments, and chosen for skills that no one else had. Every task they were given they could do on a level that not a single outside agency could match. The technology that they were given was state of the art, and second to none. It was the best force that money, careful planning, and paranoid meglomaniacs could create.

And they were getting thrashed by a trio of catgirls.

Rei Himura showed that despite being new to the scene, she was able to use her given skills to knock eight to ten men out with what looked to be a single blow.

With a flurry of whiplashes, Rei-ojou could not only disarm and leave painful welts on a body, but could shred one's clothing so that those marks could be seen.

"I believe that it's time for me to retire to make origami cranes," whimpered one agent before falling over after his encounter with Rei Light.

For the problem for the Section 2 flunkies was that they had been assigned to capture the quartet of Reis, and that severely hampered their options. Added to that was the fact that they expected to simply deal with four versions of the Rei that they knew, who would have gone pretty quietly. Or if they got rowdy, they would be properly intimidated by the sheer numbers facing them.

But faced with a mass of people not used to working on this sort of scale at once, the catgirls proved to be pretty adept at fighting off capture.

With the length advantage that her whip had over their jitte, Rei-ojou simply leapt up and swung the long leather weapon as she let out a "OH-HOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!"

The agents were aiming for simple grappling, and so were not ready for Rei Himura's low rush, speed, and agility.

"I apologise for doing this, but you leave me no choice and you must be punished," Rei Light told them as she flew around sending various opponents into the air, with their jitte falling to pieces.

Once they were finished, they stood in the center of the group of groaning and unconscious bodies and looked them over.

"It appears that they could not take the disciplining that we were forced to give them," intoned Rei Light.

Rei-ojou smirked. "Got to agree with you there."

"But shouldn't we help them?" asked Rei Nightingale.

"Do not worry," Rei Himura replied, "Assistance will likely be arriving soon for them, which I do beleive that we should not be present for, that I don't."

The other three nodded, with Nurse Rei's hesistant one, and the quartet made their way past their fallen opponents while:
