Crossed Worlds: Gold Digger: Ranma Awakens! Again! [Episode 71761]

by Rob

“I have a few ideas of what we can do with him…” Brianna said with a leer at Ranma’s unconscious form.

Gina just groaned. The accident that had created Brianna from her and Cheetah had given the lythrocopoid Some of Gina’s intellect, some of Cheetah’s strength and speed… And BOTH their libidos. ~~I was never this bad! Was I?~~ Gina asked herself before clearing her throat.

“I think we should just let him wake up, so we can at least find out who he is. And maybe WHAT he is.” She added as an afterthought. Not many humans could leave face-shaped dents in her walls and get back up 10 seconds later to race a werecheetah.

“I don’t think you’ll have long to wait Gina.” Genn announced, feeling the first stirrings of Ranma’s return to consciousness even before he began moving and groaning.

“Uuuhhhh..” For the second time in the last ten minutes, Ranma began to awake from a blow to the head. Thankfully (depending on your point of view) blows to the head were a pretty common experience for him, and didn’t keep him down for long. Though he had some rather ingrained responses when regaining consciousness.

“Uncute.. Tomboy…” He muttered, sitting up and rubbing the back of his head. Once again however he recalled that this particular concussion wasn’t Akane’s doing. He was a bit faster on the uptake this time, and his mind was just playing things back for his viewing enjoyment when he opened his eyes again

~~Something about a portal.. And a wall. A HARD wall. And then a…~~

His eyes quickly regained focused and drifted across the four people in front of him. Then they quickly locked onto one in particular. It isn’t difficult to guess who.

“C.. C…C…CAT!”

(#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*)

The Digger sisters all leaned over the pig tailed martial artist and smiled at him as his eyes blinked open, trying to make a good impression on their ‘guest.’ They then watched in surprise as the young man practically teleported away from them, into the corner of the kitchen, his back against one of the walls, and looking very much like he would like to keep going THROUGH said wall.

Cheetah just groans and threw her hands in the air. “There he goes again!”

“My Kitchen!” Gina howled, slapping her forehead at the NEW damage being wreaked upon the house as Ranma pressed back against the wall, causing it to creak and crack. Not to mention the furrows his feet were putting into the floor as he desperately tried to back away. A small portion of her mind was tallying up the bill for repairs at a speed that would have impressed even Nabiki.

Genn, on the other hand, was picking up on things the three sisters couldn’t. He had considered shifting to his well muscled male form then the pig-tailed boy began regaining consciousness, but decided to remain in his neutral form instead. The Rakshasa wasn’t picking up any dangerous or aggressive emotions from him, though unconscious people didn’t give off much in the way of feelings. Still, he felt no need to waste the energy shifting at the moment.

When the young martial artist began to awaken once again, Genn’s extra senses were treated to an interesting continuum of emotions. First came annoyance, mixed in with a bit of fondness and perhaps a touch of sadness. This was quickly followed by surprise and confusion, which mostly transformed into caution and curiosity.

And then the young man had opened his eyes, which almost instantly homed in on Cheetah, and all the other emotions vanished in a flash, replaced instead by fear. No, not fear, raw TERROR. The Rakshasa was only scanning Ranma’s emotions passively. But upon seeing the werecheetah he began broadcasting terror like a radio station, and Genn was standing right there to receive it, along with a chaotic jumble of insane imagery, most of which seemed to revolve around yellow eyes with slitted pupils staring out from the dark.

“Bri.. Britanny…” Genn groaned, holding his head as if trying to hold back the sudden, unexpected surge of emotions. “C.. Change to your human form. NOW.” The shape shifter ordered.

Cheetah stared at Genn for a moment, then shrugged and obeyed. Changing forms wasn’t such a big deal these days, not since Jetta showed here how it was supposed to be done. She still disliked her human form and it’s much plainer looks, but judging by Genn’s reaction, this was something important.

“Well, that seems to have helped.” Gina noted as the young man seemed to calm down almost instantly.

(#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*)

Ranma’s reaction to Cheetah had been quite a bit worse than normal for him. His tolerance for small furry four legged creatures was never very good, but it usually wasn’t quite as bad as this. Especially after having to deal with Shampoo’s curse for so long. He couldn’t get rid of his fear, or even suppress it all that much, be usually he could at least control it.

Of course, usually he hadn’t just been thrown through some weird portal. And then suffered from SSS (Sudden Stop Syndrome) at the other end. Seeing a cat-like face above him had quickly overwhelmed his mental defenses and put him into “Run like crazy!” mode. Being chased down hadn’t helped.

And then, regaining consciousness once more and finding that same feline face above him before his brain could even begin to wrap itself around the situation, or process the fact that this ‘cat’ went around on two legs instead of four… And on top of all that, finding himself stinking like fish, just like the fish sausage Genma had draped over his small body… Well, things hadn’t gone well.

As soon as Britanny shifted back to her human form however, Ranma’s terror eased, giving him enough breathing and thinking room to try to regain control of his rampaging emotions. He slid down the wall and landed on his rear in the corner of the kitchen, quickly fighting to push the neko-ken back into its cage at the back of his mind.

With one last deep breath, Ranma returned to some semblance of normal, winning his internal battle. He took a moment to sigh in relief… And then realized that there were four people standing in front of him, staring at him strangely.

Shooting back up to his feet, he mentally cursed himself for his weakness, and for acting like a weak little girl just like Pops always taunted him. He took two or three seconds to examine the people standing in front of him.

First were three Gaijin women. All three were rather well built (Ranma was pretty oblivious, but not totally ignorant of the opposite sex. After all, cold water turned him into one of them.) They were also all dressed in rather abbreviated outfits that would certainly have drawn some stares (and possible nosebleeds) back home in Nerima.

First there was the lithe blonde haired girl who had, up until a moment ago been very c..c...cat like. She seemed a bit annoyed, her arms crossed over her chest. Her clothes seemed a bit looser now, and her hair had rather strange spots on it… Ranma quickly turned his head and swallowed, moving on to the next girl, refusing to dwell on Cheetah and her previous form.

The second girl seemed a bit more normal looking. Until he noticed the rather feline ears sticking up out of her hair. The look she was giving him was curious… And something else that sent a little nervous shiver down his spine. For some reason she reminded him a tiny bit of Shampoo, and the looks she would throw at him sometimes. He quickly switched his gaze to the third woman.

This one was a bit shorter than the first two. Also blonde haired and well built, she was gazing at him intently, eyes filled with curiosity and a focus that brought to mind a certain Nabiki Tendo when she was working on her ledger.

And then there was the final… person looking at him. A rather short little guy with pointed ears and… little horns? Well, it’s not as if Ranma hadn’t seen far stranger things. At the moment the little guy had one hand on his head and was grimacing slightly, though he seemed to be relieved somehow.

Ranma groaned mentally, wondering just what sort of mess he had ended up in THIS time. Never having possessed much in the way of social graces (or seeing much use for them,) Ranma tried his best to figure out what he should do or say. The room he was in seemed a bit trashed, which was probably at least partially his fault. So any second now one of these girls was likely to pull out a mallet, or a spatula, or some other weird weapon, and try to send him into Low Earth Orbit. The martial artist’s mind spent a moment or two wondering just who’s fault that weird portal thing might have been. There was a pretty long list of usual suspects. But since that didn’t help him much right now, he dropped that train of thought.

~~Well, I guess an apology before they hammer me couldn’t hurt.~~ Ranma thought to himself. ~~This is probably pop’s fault somehow anyway. I just hope none of them are fiances.~~ A drop of sweat appeared on his forehead at the thought.

“Ah, Hello. I’m Ranma Saotome. Sorry about this.” Ranma said, eyes on the floor and one hand on the back of his head.
