Marilyn nodded and made some sympathetic noises while Minako told her of her woes. A few, inoffensive subtle spells had started the girl talking... just as they prevented her from leaping to the wrong conclusions from looking at the pets sold at this store.
It was a sad story. The Warrior that represented Love itself, but cursed never to find it. No matter what she did, she was doomed to end up alone.
"Well," Marilyn thought, "Nuts to that!"
True, she didn't have the ability to remove the curse... Minako was subtlety and unconsciously reinforcing it herself, only she could break it. However, there were ways around it.
Normally, Marilyn would offer Minako a contract to become a pet. That would have taken care of things, and taken away the other burdens the girl bore as well. However, Destiny had its hand firmly in place on the girl. And Destiny tended not to like it when one of its chosen got taken away from it prematurely. Since becoming a pet would make Minako useless as a Senshi, Transfurrmation was not an answer to her problem. It would just cause more.
But if she bought and cared for one of the other pets... that might slip by the curse. And if she got her confidence back, and began to believe that the Curse wasn't all powerful as she did... then she would finally be able to free herself of it!
Now... how to break this to her the right way...
